Okay so does anyone know when the 8900 and other devices will be getting the OS 5.0 update??

Posted by violatizzle Tuesday, Nov 17, 2009 916 days ago

hey, that's a nice looking curve! When's the next bold coming out?

Posted by lang007 Tuesday, Nov 17, 2009 916 days ago

They should have kept it the same size as the 9000

Time cures all, when the original Bold was released, there were a lot of very vocal people around here blasting the Bold for its size and how RIM must be crazy for releasing such a "massive" device.

A year later and the Bold's size is much beloved and RIM must be crazy for releasing a smaller device under the Bold banner.

I like the size. I have large hands and the 9000 is a great size. I guess I will get use to the 9700 once I get one.

I have a Bold right now and I like the size too. However, as with everything there are trade-offs which I understood when I got the device. I plan on getting a 9700 and I understand that there will be trade-offs as well.

Why do you people insist on having TV remote control sized cell phones?....its not 1998 anymore.

Posted by tnewton3 Tuesday, Nov 17, 2009 916 days ago

Because our tv remote size phone will smoke your tiny phone in capabilities and reception quality.

Posted by crimsonking Tuesday, Nov 17, 2009 916 days ago

The capabilities of the smaller 9700 are much higher then the big 9000 (even though I like the 9000 size)

You mean when the 9000 isn't dropping calls and running out of battery life....Ha!!!

I'm still patiently waiting...counting down the days!! I'd also like to see OS 5.0 drop for the Curve 8900! That's what I'm currently rockin...

I like the Tour but the keys are uncomfortable I just got the T-Mo Curve but because of the high speed net ability of the Bold I thought about trading back my new Curve but it's the keys that make me stay away from the Bold, Now I could buy a special cover for it that covers the keys if they make one for it. Those concave keys cut into the tips on my thumbs so much I'm thinking of selling my Sprint Tour! Sorry if I rant but I ain't no manikin!...Sigh...When will BlackBerry get it right?

Those keys are a real health hazzard. I heard some poor soul cut his thumb clean off when trying to type out an email. Its a lawsuit waiting to happen. NOT!!!

Can't wait for this to drop, I love my Curve but once I'm able to upgrade it's on!

Just picked one up on a Premier acct. upgrade for $74. Total bill came to $113.99 with car charger and shipping. Will be here tomorrow!

$74.99 with overnight shipping and tax - $86.99
Can't wait to get this in my hands... My 8820 has done me well but it's time for something stronger, faster and capable of OS5.0. Now, time to upgrade my companies BES to 5.0. =)

How were you able to get it for $74.99? I am eligible for an upgrade and logged on to the premier site and I still get $299 and then there's a promo for a $100 mail in rebate through Saturday, November 21st?
Did you call in to the premier line and they hooked you up?

Picked mine up from the ATT store today. I didn't get it as cheap as 80 bucks but I'm still happy I got it.

Posted by zhupac09 Wednesday, Nov 18, 2009 916 days ago

hey guys, so i was snooping around on the internet searching for the bold 9700 on att's website and there is a way to get the phone even if youre not a business customer. if you are a college student and your school is supported by att's sponsorship program, you can enter your school email and you will be able to purchase the phone. hope this helps

about a year away from upgrade eligibility...

called Premiere line...

asked them what they could do for me...

they said - 199.99, waiving shipping but extending my current contract for another 2 years...

so i saved what like $500 from full retail?

I too was about a year away from an upgrade.

I called the ATT retention center.

The guy gave it to me for 174.99 waived the shipping and gave me a new sim card.

He only extended my contract a year.

Must have found the right guy.
