From now until January 12, 2010 you can get $15 back from the purchase of any two apps from BlackBerry App World. The PayPal promotion simply requires you to register on this page. From there you need to buy two apps from BlackBerry App World using your PayPal account, and you will receive up to $15 (plus taxes and fees) back from PayPal. The only catch that I can see is that the refund may take a while as it states it may be 4-6 weeks or by February 23, 2010. So if you've been looking to pick up a few premium apps from BlackBerry App World, be sure to hit up this page first and take advantage of the sweet offer.

BlackBerry App World Money Back Offer - Get Up To $15 Back When You Buy Two Apps

its funny how the screen shot says UP TO yet the article title and starts out by misleading people thinking you get $15 back.

You will receive up to $15 plus taxes and fees back from PayPal® for the second app you purchase, of equal or lesser retail value.

I may have misunderstood the post, but the confirmation email from RIM points out that the up-to-$15 is cashback for the SECOND app you purchase. I was hoping this was $15 across the total purchase of two apps, but it's more like a buy-one-get-one-free type thing, with a max rebate/cashback of $15 on the second app.

The confirmation email states "You will receive up to $15 plus taxes and fees back from PayPal for the second app you purchase, of equal or lesser value."

So, you need to buy TWO apps, and you get a refund for the second, or lesser valued app.

Seems like there is more of a catch than just this: "The only catch that I can see is that the refund may take a while as it states it may be 4-6 weeks or by February 23, 2010."

I was hoping to pick up Mobile Checkbook 4.0.

... Of this deal any way, so I purchased both Mobile Checkbook 4.0 and this new app I found miBudget, looks very promising.

Any discount is a good discount, I guess. I will admit when I first read the post I assumed I could buy BerryWeather and BerryBuzz for a total of $0.90 or so after cashback/rebate. Even buying one and getting the other for free is pretty cool.

Thanks CB for the post and RIM for the freebie offer!

What an awesome promotion! Do you get $15 back either way or only the equal value of your purchases up to $15?!?

Here is the fine-print on the sign up page

**Allow 4-6 weeks or by February 23, 2010 for reimbursement in your PayPal account for the equal or lesser retail value of the two applications up to a maximum of $15 plus taxes and fees.

The confirmation email says "You will receive up to $15 plus taxes and fees back from PayPal® for the SECOND app you purchase, of equal or lesser retail value."

while the full terms and conditions says "PayPal will reimburse your PayPal account for the equal or lesser retail value of the TWO applications up to a maximum of $15..."

So is it that we only get reimbursed for the second application or is it a reimbursement for both applications?

And if it's just for the second purchase, does the first app have to be equal price or more expensive than the second app ("equal or lesser retail value")?

The problem with App World is that you have to infect your blackberry with APP WORLD! I buy all my stuff from the CB Store (mobihand) so that I don't have to deal with any extra installs :(

I thought this sounded to good to be true. But I guess any money back is good, only its not coming right back is it?

**Allow 4-6 weeks or by February 23, 2010 for reimbursement in your PayPal account.

Does anyone know if I can purchase the 'BeWeather' app from App World, and use it on the most current version of 'BerryWeather' available at m.bellshare.com

Can anyone please advise whether this offer is valid for US and Canada only or can apply to other markets like UK or other countries?
I don't see in mentioned in the small print, but it does ask to select either one of the two countries in the website form.

i would assume if it only had Canada and US as choices, then it is only available in those 2 countries. I could be wrong though!

http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/appworld/paypal_terms.jsp

"when you buy two (2) applications from the BlackBerry App World™ storefront within a 24-hour period, PayPal will reimburse your PayPal account for the equal or lesser retail value of the two applications up to a maximum of $15"

Make sure both of your purchases happen during the same day. The terms also say you get reimbursed up to $15 for both applications, but the confirmation email says you get reimbursed for the second only.

I just received my money back and I can confirm that you will only get reimbursed for the second app. Unfortunately, my second app was a cheap one. Should have purchased them in a different order as my first app was $9.99!

I also just got my money back, sort of.

I purchased two apps, in the right order, and within the 24-hour period (on the same calendar day) as required by the fine print in the terms and conditions. I purchased more expensive and worthwhile apps (Repligo Reader and Vlingo Plus, the former for $19.99 and the latter for $14.99 on promotion. The following day, a few hours more than 24 hours after the second purchase, I also picked up a cheap $2.99 app.

According to the terms, I should have received $14.99 plus taxes ($16.32) back, for the second app purchased within a 24-hour period (the third app was not purchased within 24 hours of any other, and was not the second app in any way).

However, I just got my money back (quite promptly, no complaint about that, and the refund was for only $2.99 plus taxes ($3.26). I sent an e-mail to RIM, who said "the problem was related to my PayPal account" so I have opened a PayPal dispute - we'll see if I get any satisfaction from that.

So even if you read all the fine print and plan it out carefully, you can still get ripped off.

So PayPal did the right thing and credited my account:

"We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your favor.

"We were able to recover $16.32 USD and this amount has been credited to you. Please allow five business days for this adjustment to be posted."

I guess there is some justice in the world after all (although if you count the time I spent on the dispute I doubt I even got minimum wage...)
