Howdy CrackBerry nation! Today is Friday and you know what that means, we are less than one week away from the BlackBerry Passport launch events! There are no words to express how elated I am over this fact and certainly something we are all looking forward to. There were also a few welcome announcements regarding new partnerships including Tango and Hootsuite which you should definitely take a look at.

Now it is time to bring you this week's picks for all your passionate BlackBerry addicts out there. You can find each app and game by clicking through the gallery below. If your favorite did not make the cut this week, remember you can help by offering your suggestions at the end.

BlackMug by Patrik Lahti

If you are professional or amateur photographers then no doubt you are familiar with SmugMug, the photo-sharing and image hosting service. For those that utilize the paid subscription service, you will be pleasantly surprised that a third party application made it's way to the storefront this week. Dubbed BlackMug, it allows you to share your photos from your BlackBerry 10 smartphone to your account. This free and simple application is easy to use and offers the ability to upload photos and albums (with an option to enter caption and keywords) in a matter of moments by pressing upload. In addition, photos may also be shared from within the camera or pictures application. All that is required is that you authorize the application (it does not ask for your password) by signing into your account using the BlackBerry browser. For now BlackMug is a free application for all BlackBerry 10 devices.

No matter what field you may work in being able to set a sound profile in certain situations is important, especially if you are in a meeting. Nothing like discussing a delicate matter and an awkward tone suddenly goes off. That is why we have profile changing applications such as this one. With a few swipes and taps, users can change the system sound profile to vibrate, silent, normal, all alerts off, or phone calls only. Not only that but there is an option to manually set the duration of the profile from 1 minute to 24 hours. Everything is accessible from the main screen and the drop down menus. Once your specific profile is set simply tap on activate at the bottom of the screen. This headless application earned its Built for BlackBerry badge and is only $.99 to purchase on BlackBerry 10.

Remote Selfie by mapau OG

In this day and age it is all about the selfie. There is even a new TV show premiering soon that centers around them. This simple application utilizes the front facing camera on your device to quickly snap a shot. It offers a timer, so that for three or ten seconds you have time to get into the right position, and the ability to work with almost any Bluetooth remote shutter so that you control your device remotely to capture that image. Remote Selfie may not offer the ability to add effects before sharing but it is free to download for those that enjoy this popular trend.

Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff by TinyCo

Being that the super-sized premiere of this show is in nine days, it is only fitting the popular game is included. The premise of this game is as follows: Peter Griffin has accidentally destroyed Quahog after fighting with the Chicken and through the different missions and tasks it your job to help him rebuild the town. There are all sorts of mischief to be had and many inside jokes, characters, and themes from the show are represented here. Basically, you tap on a character and select an action to perform and collect the XP, coins, and clams that help you along the way. There is even a way to enter the Multiverse that Stewie found. There is some in app purchases to be found but I've been able to play so far for free. Also, as this is Family Guy, some of the content may be offensive to some so be warned. While a lot of the missions require you to wait, up to an hour or more for a couple of them, fans of the show will enjoy the graphics, sounds, and hearing their favorite characters and quips from the series. I've played this on my Q10 and Z30 and it is free to download from the Amazon Appstore.

At one time or another, we are all probably guilty of collecting too much stuff. Be it baseball cards, books, video games, movies, or CD's there comes a time we need track and manage our collections all in one place on our BlackBerry. That is where Hoard comes into play. Aptly named for how we carefully guard or hide our collections, it creates unlimited lists for to enter in your items. There are customized drop-downs for category and item type, a search and filter function to locate a particular piece, an option for backing up your data, the ability to view statistics on your collections, and even a way to select a random item which is handy for when you want to choose the next book to read or movie to watch. Users can track just about everything they own for $1.99. Now if you excuse me I have bookcases of novels and movies to catalog.
