In Case You Missed It...

Just in case you missed these titles, below are some apps that were covered in the CrackBerry Blogs this past week. Check 'em out!

BlackBerry App World Updated to 1.1.0.19

BlackBerry App World Updated

Seeing as we're talking BlackBerry Apps, this seemed like an appropriate place to start the roundup. Our beloved BlackBerry App World has been updated to 1.1.0.19, with some mystery. No changelog was made available, but we suspect many bug fixes and minor tweaks were added to this build. If you've noticed anything different from your end, be sure to let us know in the comments.

You can grab this latest version by heading over to blackberry.com/appworld from your Berry's browser.

LaterDude Pro Updated to 2.2.51

LaterDude Pro Updated

Looks like my bud Fabian Heuwieser has been busy updating one of his more popular apps. LaterDude Pro is a simple reminder app that can really come in handy. It has been updated to version 2.2.51, and there are some interesting new features found within:

  • English, Dutch, German, Italian, Spanish, Romanian and French Translation
  • Option if the Menu should be displayed in the whole system or only in the specific apps
  • Free Trial available
  • Select if you want to save the new event as Calendar, Task or be prompted
  • Option to set as what you want to preselect the new entry (Call, Contact, Meet, SMS or eMail)
  • Time and Date can be set from the pre-set buttons and also manually
  • Free upgrade for previous users
  • Many bugs fixed

You can check out LaterDude Pro in our Store >

LaterFlag

LaterFlag

More from Fabian Heuwieser, and this time around it comes to us in the form of a NEW BlackBerry App. Called LaterFlag, this one lets you flag your emails in two ways (high or low priority) for follow-up at a later time. The app is a freebie, and should be an awesome tweak for your device if you're not running a leaked 5.0 OS (5.0 seems to have this feature built-in).

You can download LaterFlag for free right here >

AOL Radio Player for the Bold

AOL Radio Player for the Bold

Yet another radio app has arrived for the Berry, and this time around it comes to us as AOL Radio Player. Unfortunately only a BlackBerry Bold version is available at the moment, but I have a feeling a new version with diverse model support will be on the way shortly. If you're a Bold user and would like to check it out, simply hit up this link and you're off to the races. It's a free download, so give it a shot.

Viigo 2009/2010 Hockey Service Now Available

Viigo 2009/2010 Hockey Service

This one couldn't be more appropriate. As I'm punching out this section of the Roundup, I just happen to be thinking about pulling my goalie gear out of storage, as I have a practice tomorrow (yes, I'm truly Canadian, EH?). At any rate, Viigo has launched their 2009/2010 hockey service. With it, you can follow your favorite team, check scores, standings, news and much more. It's a must have for any NHL hockey fan.

To check it out, give Viigo a spin at http://crackberryviigo.com/

New This Week

BlackBookBlackBook

With BlackBook, you can keep your contacts completely hidden. Access them by entering a customizable key code. Cool. If keeping your contact list private and secure is of importance, BlackBook is an ideal solution. All that is needed here is a minimum of OS 4.5, and yep, this bad boy will run just fine on the Storm as well.

Check out BlackBook in our Store >

Smart Lock and WipeSmart Lock and Wipe

In another handy security app, the folks at Magilab have brought Smart Lock and Wipe to our store. Install it on your Berry, and activate it at any time using any mobile phone or computer via SMS, PIN, or email. The app goes in and erases all email, call logs, contacts, and more. It will even erase content on internal memory and SD cards, clear Gmail, MSN Messenger, and a lot more.

You can pick up Smart Lock and Wipe for $5.99 in our Store >

BBCurrencyConverterBBCurrencyConverter

The latest currency converted to be added to our store is BBCurrencyConverter. Bringing a real simple and easy-to-use interface, this one packs quite a few features including daily currency rate changes.

Key features:

  • Around 150 currencies can be converted
  • Up to date rates of the world market
  • Customizable currencies for ease of use
  • Remembers previous currency combination
  • No ads displayed
  • Wifi Support

You can pick up BBCUrrencyConverter for $0.99 >

SpeedSpeed

Time for some card game action. Speed is of course the classic card game in which you have to get rid of your cards as fast as you can. I'm not going to get into the rules of the game, but trust me, it can be pretty darn fun. The game features 5 speed and difficulty settings, 2 deck faces, and a handy win/loss tracker to see how you're doing against the AI. Two versions of the app are available, one for non-toushcreen berry's, the other for the Storm.

Freebie of the Week:

Talk Like A Pirate

Talk Like a Pirate

OK, I admit it, this one is goofy at best... But I figure it's worth a look, as it's free, and it could be tons of fun for some of you out there. Called 'Talk Like A Pirate', the folks at PrologInc have launched this silly little app that lets you translate english sentences into pirate speak. Use it to translate email and sms messages, or just to have some good clean pirate fun. Could be ideal for Halloween, no? :)
