Mixem and Mixem Free by Koby Douek

When going through BlackBerry World, I happened upon this game and haven’t been able to put it down since. This mixing alchemy game asks players to combine different elements to create as many existing and new ones as they can. The fun lies in mixing and matching them on the board to discover each of the ones on their list and the final elements. They are constantly updating with new elements and combinations and their goal is to reach 1,000. Think you can you find them all? It is compatible with all BlackBerry 10 devices in a free limited version and a premium one for $0.99.

Happy Cooking by SmartAps

I’ve never proclaimed to be a whiz in the kitchen. I tend to stick with simple recipes but this application features an assortment from different cultures and cuisines. All of them are laid out in an easy to read manner with images, instructions, preparation tips, and an option to diary in your calendar. The trial version is free to download and includes a recipes from two countries though it limits the number of views. The full version is $2.99 for BlackBerry 10 as an in-app purchase.

Xtreme Maps Pro by Nemory Development Studios

While there is no shortage of map applications in the store, this one came to me via a reader suggestion. It grants users access to two different maps, Here Maps and Google Maps. It comes with a plethora of features including turn by turn navigation with voice assistance, traffic incidents, easy and quick search for places, restaurants, or stores (including reviews, photos, and contact info), and the ability to save map areas / offline maps (Here Maps only) to your device which is one option we can all appreciate. Xtreme Maps is $3.99 and supports all BlackBerry 10 devices.

Vignette by by neilandtheresa

This popular Android port may not be new but it is one I’ve been meaning to try as there is no shortage of photo editing apps on my device. It smooth, applies changes instantly, and comes with more than 70 customizable filters and 50 frames. As a full-featured camera application it has digital zoom, time-lapse, and a self-timer. From a user perspective I kind of like the random setting which selects the filters for you. Some may find that the interface and controls take a little bit getting used to but it does link to an online user guide if you require assistance. Best part is there is a demo available for free so you can take it for a spin before deciding on whether to purchase for $2.99. It is compatible with all BlackBerry 10 devices.

BlackBerry App Roundup for November 8, 2013

Great post Alicia. Thanks for all the wonderful app suggestions.

Maybe we can get some BBOS and PlayBook love a little more often? Not EVERYONE is on a BB10 device and some of us don't want to feel left behind in the dust (even though that may be exactly where we are lol)

As in USA TV network? Cool!
(even though I won't be able to use it here in Canada...)

This is how you CB10, son!

I just downloaded mixem free game and already I'm addicted! Its free and definitely worth the download!

You're definitely getting some attention & traction with your game!

This is how you CB10, son!

Got Vignette and Pastry Push....

Pastry Push seems to be the next Angry Birds and to top it its a BB10 exclusive, we should definitely use this to show the tide of change in BB.

Nah, it's a puzzle game, which means you need to use your brain, which means it'll never be as popular as games like angry birds for the masses...

Hi Alicia,
We would like to share with you about our Built for Blackberry Certified, Fitness and Lifestyle app 'HapLife - The Fitness Hub'. We have received positive reviews till now and some of the reviews of the app in BlackBerry World are
"Never quite seen an app like it. Feature rich and definitely motivating and calming."
"Great variety and options to customize the exercise"
"The yoga series is good and I did their in app purchase. It's been just 2 days since I started using it and I love it on my q10. Back to my healthy lifestyle this fall. I will update if I find any issues ;)"
Please provide a review article on our app in your website and help us improve our app development experience for BB10.

Happberry team

Hey there, thanks. Your app post is currently in the works but thanks for reaching out.

In serious need of a multi platform international calls app such as viber or tango for bb10....

Posted via CB10

I don't use such apps tbh. Are there major advantages over Skype, which is available on BB10?

This is how you CB10, son!

Maybe Safety Tracker PRO?

I think it is good application (and yes, it's Built for BlackBerry).

Damn was tempted to get xtreme maps but reading the reviews show that it used to cost $.99, so I would feel kind of silly paying 4 times that... I hope it goes back on sale...

Just add to home screen and you are all set to go. It has offline capability, turn by turn navigation, traffic support, etc. The app is simply a wrapper for Google Maps mobile website and Here Maps mobile website.
