Howdy CrackBerry readers. It is time once again for the weekly App Roundup where I rustle up some interesting, fun, and useful applications and games for you to try. With the news of OS 10.3 being posted on Michael Clewley's BBM Channel (C00014277) it's hard to pick just one feature I'm looking forward to most. Although, Endless Folders, is a big plus in my book with all the apps and games I download!

Be sure to check out this week's picks by clicking through the gallery below. If your favorite did not make the cut this week, remember you can help by offering your suggestions at the end.

Refuel Racing by Value Apps

First up is a submission from a popular theme developer who started creating native games for BlackBerry 10. The object is to race through city traffic as far as you can go all while navigating through through obstacles, collecting coins, and keeping an eye on your fuel tank and car health. The faster you drive the more fuel you consume so you better try and catch up with the mobile refueling station before your tank runs out. Value Apps is already working on an update which will include more cars, in-app purchases for coins to get fuel, and more. The game is $.99 and works on all BlackBerry 10 devices, and they are seeking user feedback.

MeasureMe by Mohamed Abdelsalam

This application measures the distance to any object, no matter now near or far, big or small, using only your device. From the main screen, it determines the distance or height of the object when focused on it's base. Next, the dimensions tab allows you to calculate an object's height and width by sliding the lines around the borders. The slide meter measures the dimensions of near objects by sliding the device from one edge to another. Finally, the miscellaneous tab provides additional meters such as metal detector, altitude, campus, and temperature. There is also the option to measure surface and vertical distances and speeds. I see this as an alternative when you need quick estimates and measurements on the go. In order to function it accesses shared files, BBM (for profile updates), and Capture Screen (for taking screenshots). Make sure to focus as directed or the results might be off. You can find it at the link for $.99.

OrganizeMe! for BlackBerry 10 by Sven Ziegler

The developer behind OrganizeMe! for the PlayBook has released a version for BlackBerry 10, though as a public beta. Designed to organize and assist your daily life, it gathers, manages, and organizes your notes, browser bookmarks, todo lists, shopping lists, recipes and more all in one place to make sure you get things done. A Springpad account is required to setup and use but you can easily create one from within the app. As a beta, it currently pulls notes, bookmarks, notes, lists, create and edit new list entries, access attachments on or offline, and add links. The BlackBerry 10 beta is available for $.99 while the fully functional PlayBook version is $2.99. It asks for permission to access BBM, your Camera, Calendar, and Shared Files to add items to your list.

iUnarchive by De Voorkant

While our devices can create and open zip files for those seeking the ability to open additional file types including RAR, 7-zip, or gz, then this is a decent option. They say it is a port of their iOS app, however, it is native for BlackBerry 10. As such files can be opened and extracted by using the BlackBerry 10 framework, emails, web browser, and even the cloud such as Dropbox. The only permission it asks for is to Shared files so that it can access your device, SD Card and your cloud services to locate and open the archive files. I admit this has been around for a bit but I only recently started downloading archived files in formats other than ZIP. You can grab it for $1.99 at the link.

Workout Trainer by SmartAps

Now that summer is almost here, it is time to get in shape. Initially free to download, users can unlock additional workouts or the full version for $3.99. It features ten to thirty minutes of full body workouts, eighty exercises, videos showing how to complete each exercise, option to randomly create different workouts each day, on-screen instructions and a timer. There is even an option to add a workout to the BlackBerry Calendar, which of course is the reason why it asks for permission to access it. What I do like is the Diet Recipe tab that lets you browse quick, easy, and healthy meals. It supports all BlackBerry 10 handsets and is good if you are looking for a compilation of exercises.
