Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday so far and getting ready for the weekend. It's time once again for the weekly App Roundup. Now I spent my time wisely this week rustling up some new, cool, and helpful applications for all you BlackBerry addicts to try. Be sure to check them out and remember you can help by offering your suggestions at the end.
eRBook – Readability Client by DevPDA.net
For those of you with Readability.com accounts for syncing articles and reading later then this Built for BlackBerry native application is for you. It allows you to sync, read and view your saved articles as the service itself does not offer it’s own app. It took the perseverance of a developer to bring it to the platform as a full-featured readability.com client. Users can sync their reading list, mark as favorite, archive articles, share, and add tags all from their BlackBerry 10 device. It also allows users to change the font, make full screen or change the style (i.e. Day mode) as well. There are two versions available, a free one that restricts tags and changing font and styles or the premium one that can be unlocked for $1.99 as an in-app purchase. This is a full-featured readability.com client and you can find it at the link.
Dayly for BlackBerry 10 by Miciniti
Nothing wrong with chronicling your ideas, memories, and those special moments right on your BlackBerry and in one central place. As a native personal diary/journal app you can write and edit your entries, add notes, pictures, include weather and location, and password protect. Rather than have bits and pieces of your life scattered amongst scraps of paper or across different applications you can enter them all here for future reference. Available for BlackBerry 10 it supports all devices save for the Z30 and is $.99.
Flipp: Flyers and Weekly Ads by Wishabi, Inc.
Every week I go through the flyers and weekly ads of the stores in my area looking for deals to save money. With this ported application now you have the convenience of finding your favorites at your fingertips. Users can quickly search for a store or item, clip or circle items to add to your shopping list, and add your favorite store’s flyer to your favorites. While it does not pick up every store nearby, though many of the big chains are there, you can go into settings and request a store to be added to their list. Price match to your heart's content as it supports BlackBerry 10 and the PlayBook, is free to download, and runs smooth for a port.
Wuzzles by XLabz Technologies Pvt Ltd
If you are a fan of rebus puzzles then this latest game from Xlabz is quite enjoyable. Each one is a picture riddle with a hidden meaning. Whether it is a catchphrase, common saying or a compound word it is your mission to find out what the rebus is. For example, the first level shows a small box to the left of the word office. The answer to the puzzle would be Box Office. There are ten levels included to keep you occupied, lifelines to help gear you towards the answer, the ability to earn achievements, and the option to ask help from your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram friends. This game is challenging and fun with decent graphics even though this is a port. While free to download, ads can be removed for an in-app purchase of $1.99. It supports the BlackBerry Z10, Z30 and Porsche P'9982.
Hoteloogle by Hoteloogle.com
Searching for a hotel but don’t want to go through various travel websites to find or compare prices? For those with legacy BBOS devices you can simply use this application to access the popular hotel search engine website to locate one in the area for the cheapest price. There are over 450,000 hotels worldwide to search through and each listing includes descriptions, maps, images, and guest reviews from other sources. Users can also filter results by rating, and price which includes taxes and fees. Hoteloogle supports most BlackBerry devices running OS 4.x and higher.
