Howdy CrackBerry nation! Hope you all are ready for the weekend. Another exciting has come and gone over here and what a week it as been. Not only did we see an update to the BBM Meetings device and desktop apps, and UK retailers taking pre-orders for the BlackBerry Leap, but also a leak for OS 10.3.2.281 and of course, the BlackBerry Q4 2015 fiscal results.

Now it's time to bring you this week's picks for all your passionate BlackBerry addicts out there. You can find each app and game I've rustled up for you by clicking through the gallery below. If your favorite did not make the cut this week, remember you can help by offering your suggestions at the end.

Spambox by Britz Software Inc.

Going through the forums I came across this new and useful application. Spambox is a simple tool for blocking unwanted messages (text and emails) and unsolicited phone calls. This native spam filter offers a variety of features to assist users in blocking mail and numbers. It includes a blacklist and a whitelist for your mobile network and email accounts, utilizes keywords to assist in identifying unwarranted messages, supports automated cleanup, and download attachments for all blocked emails. One additional feature, called Shake to block, is one that certainly makes it stand out from the rest. You can block and blacklist the incoming phone call all by just shaking your device. However, it works for unknown numbers only and does not include numbers listed in your contacts. With its easy to use interface it automatically detects your email accounts (though individual setup is coming in a future release). Please note an update is pending so that it works with Outlook.com accounts. At the time of this post, Spambox is free for a limited time. While this is available on OS 10.3.1, it is not available for OS 10.2.1.

Whip Swing by Pixel Envision

There is nothing like a challenging game to keep you on your toes. That is where this pure whip swinging action game reminiscent of Indiana Jones comes into play. The concept of the game is quite simple, with only a trusty bullwhip at your side you must venture as far as you can swinging from branch to branch along the ceiling. One false step or if you miss just one, you are killed by the spikes below. While the premise again is easy, being able to master is entirely different. Do you have what it takes to be an adventurer? Be sure to give this a try for $0.99 in the Amazon Appstore.

One More Line by SMG Studio

Looking for that one game that hooks you the moment it starts? That's how I felt when I tried this one for the first time. For starters, it has a minimal and retro look to it. Your goal is to keep your spaceship in motion, or rather in a semi-straight line for as long as you can without crashing into the sides or the various obstacles (i.e. colored dots on the screen). Players can do by making sure they pay attention to the blink and you miss it tutorial at the beginning that simply tells you to hold anywhere. This way when an obstacle comes along you can spin around it and then let go. While it propels your ship forward, just make sure it isn't into the wall. There is not strategy I can recommend to help you on your quest. All I can say is that this never-ending game has me hooked. Did I mention your ship emits a rainbow as its moves? It is just one more thing to love about it. Think you can last longer than a few seconds? You can download One More Line for free from the Amazon Appstore.
