2. PhotoStar by Daniel Bigham

PhotoStar

PhotoStar has been in development for quite some time if you've been following the forum thread and has finally made its debut in BlackBerry World. This photo utility app offers several useful features for organizing, managing, and sharing your photos to friends, family, and followers.

We all know there are rules for triaging your emails, but what if there was something similar with photos? This is what sets PhotoStar apart. You can create rules for your photos to initiate specific actions. For instance, you could create a rule that if you give a rating of 4 or higher to certain photos, they will automatically be sent to a certain individual. In addition, you can create a rule that photos rated 3 or better will automatically be saved to your Dropbox account so that nothing important is ever lost. Finally, its possible to create the rule that every photo you rate as 1 star will be automatically deleted. There are just a few examples of what you can do with PhotoStar.

PhotoStar also presents you with the ability to share to multiple accounts with only one tap. All you have to is tap on the photo and select each service, no need to retype the information. It supports Facebook, Twitter, Picassa, Flickr, Dropbox, and email.

Finally, PhotoStar allows you to search by rating, tags, person, location, and date, offers face recognition through faceplusplus.com to help automate tagging photos, and comes with geotagging.

PhotoStar is compatible with all BlackBerry 10 handsets and is $0.99 to purchase in BlackBerry World.

3. Kiosk Pro by Toysoft Inc.

Kiosk Pro

Kiosk Pro is the latest app release from Toysoft for the Android platform. In simple terms, Kiosk Pro is a customized launcher which allows you or your organization to demo or try apps in a secure environment without granting access to the rest of the device.

Once Kiosk mode is activated, the party using your device can only access and run applications you (the administrator) designate in settings. This means the end user cannot view or access email messages nor will they be able to share or view files. While in this mode, please be aware several features are disabled, such as the Notification Toolbar, so you and the other party will not be able to see or view incoming messages or alerts, the Recent launched application list, and the Google search toolbar. Administrators also have the option of disabling WiFi and Bluetooth access.

The app itself is password protected so only you can start and stop kiosk mode as well as make other modifications. While organizations can use this to demo products, you can also use this to restrict usage when loaning your device to family, friends, or even your children when playing games. Kiosk Pro provides up to three homescreens for you to add applications and the option to set wallpaper.

Please note, in order to function properly, Kiosk Pro must be set as the default launcher.

You can download Kiosk Pro for free in Google Play. An in app purchase of $0.99 is required to unlock.
