In Case You Missed It...

Just in case you missed these titles, below are some apps that were covered in the CrackBerry Blogs this past week. Check 'em out!

Food Network Mobile App for BlackBerry

Food Network for BlackBerry

The Food Network has launched an awesome little app optimized for the BlackBerry. Use it to browse or search recipes, or even check out some videos from my favorite culinary network.

Official description from The Food Network:

"Food Network is one of the most recognized and respected authorities on food. The mobile application for BlackBerry smartphones is the perfect extension of the channel's robust database of top quality recipes and food related content," said Paul Burns, vice president digital media for the network. "We identified a market of users eager for food related content delivered in a way that suits their busy lifestyles and we are proud to be the first Canadian provider to respond to that interest."

You can pick it up for free via The Food Network, or via App World.

TIME Magazine App for BlackBerry

TIME Magazine for BlackBerry

The folks at TIME Magazine have added another very handy app to our repertoire this week. If you enjoy the magazine, you can now read it wherever you are, from the convenience of your BlackBerry handheld. Browse articles and photography, and customize the app to deliver the content you're interested in the most. This one is compatible with most current Berry devices.

To download OTA, hit up http://app.time.com.

Wicked Wordpress V1.0 Available

Wicked Wordpress for BlackBerry

If the official Wordpress App for BlackBerry isn't quite cutting it for ya, there's now another option out there. Wicked Wordpress is one any BlackBerry-toting blogger will want to check out... However, it's important to note that this is a paid app. A 14 day free trial is available, and after that you'll need to shell out a cool $30/yr to continue use. It's certainly worth a look... you can check it out for yourself via the developers at Screaming Toaster.

WHERE Available for the BlackBerry Tour

WHERE for the BlackBerry Tour

If you're among the eager early-adopters of the BlackBerry Tour, you'll be pleased to know that a new version of the WHERE app is now compatible with your shiny new Berry. It's doing so well in fact, that the app is a #1 download for the Tour. C'est bon! WHERE is a killer app that can help you find anything using your built-in GPS. Find movie locations and times, phone numbers, gas, coffee, traffic reports and more. Look for WHERE in App World, or read more about it at Where.com.

VQ CarFinder Remembers Where you Parked!

VQ CarFinder

If you often forget where you parked your car while out-and-about, the VQ CarFinder App was made for you. Once installed, there's really nothing you need to do. If your car has Bluetooth on-board, your Berry will pick up the Bluetooth signal, connect, and note the last location from where it received the signal. When you turn your car off, it will plot the last location. When trying to find your car again, simply pop open the app and the rest is self explanatory. If you don't have Bluetooth on-board, a handy Bluetooth car charger is available for purchase for $19.99. Very handy, very useful... and very cool. Read more over at www.4carfinder.com or check it out in App World.

New This Week

Meters for BlackBerryMeters

Meters provides you with, um, well Meters (duh) to help you monitor your BlackBerry's performance. Toggle through a battery meter, memory meter and object meter to give you a clear look at your Berry, and even diagnose potential problems before they occur. While Meters is running, it requests that the system does garbage collection as often as is reasonable to free up memory and object handles as soon as they're no longer needed.

Two versions are available. One for OS 4.2 through 4.5... and another for OS 4.7 users.

Reversi for the BlackBerry StormReversi for the Storm

New from the folks at Tafasa, Reversi is a remake of the classic 'Othello' game for the BlackBerry Storm. The object of the game is to have more of your color pieces on the board by the time the playfield is full of pieces. If you surround opponents pieces with yours, you get to flip them over to 'convert' them to your color. Gameplay and rules really are simple. 5 different computer difficulty levels are built-in, animations can be turned on or off, and you can even show or hide possible playable moves. If you are a fan of the game and carry a Storm, this one is worth a look!

You can pick it up right now at ShopCrackBerry.com >

MessageForward for BlackBerryMessageForward

What MessageForward does is simple... it forwards a copy of all incoming SMS text messages to an email address you provide. This could come in very handy, allowing you to check incoming SMS messages via email instead of glancing at your Berry again and again... Plus, you can save a backup of incoming messages, or even keep track of all messages by forwarding them to a new, otherwise unknown email address.

MessageForward is available right now for $9.99 at ShopCrackBerry.com >

Patrik's Easy CookingPatrik's Easy Cooking

Patrik's Easy Cooking claims to be the 'ultimate cookbook for young, modern cuisine'. Here's a brief description from the developers:

Chef Patrik Jaros and food photographer Günter Beer decided to take on the challenge of cooking in single and small households. They wanted to create everyday recipes that every amateur cook can understand. A cooking guide that can be taken anywhere – shopping, riding the metro or sitting in a café. The result is this cooking app.

Inside you'll find 72 recipes which can be browsed by category or chapter. Plus, there's easy step-by-step slideshows of food preparation. If shopping for the ingredients is a concern, there's also an illustrated shopping list feature which makes it easy to find and buy the correct items.

Patrik's Easy Cooking is only available for the Storm at this point... and can be picked up for $2.99 at ShopCrackBerry.com >
