Howdy CrackBerry Nation! Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday so far and getting ready for the weekend. It's time once again for the weekly App Roundup. Now I spent my time wisely this week rustling up some new, cool, and helpful applications for all you BlackBerry addicts to try. Be sure to check them out and remember you can help by offering your suggestions at the end.

Santa Defends by Value Apps

First up this week is a game for the little ones. Value Apps let us know of their Santa oriented game to keep them occupied this holiday season. Your mission is to prevent the evil villain, impersonating Jolly old Saint Nick himself, from delivering toxic gifts by using magic and a cannon to turn them into regular presents. The game itself is not very complicated and the graphics are basic yet it does take some skill to aim and shoot at the falling targets before they hit the ground and destroy the town. You can find it at the link for $.99 and it supports the BlackBerry PlayBook, BlackBerry Z10 and Z30

Dhoom:3 The Game by 99Games Online Pvt. Ltd.

One of our readers suggested this game for the roundup and I thought I would give it a try. Based on the action packed franchise of the same name, users can don the cape of the popular anti-hero and ride the streets of Chicago on their super bike battling heavy traffic, cops, pursuit helicopters and evade others as well. This 3D endless racing game offers awesome graphics, responsive controls, power-ups and scoreloop integration. Designated as Built for BlackBerry, it is free to download for BlackBerry 10 handsets.

Contacts Manager by Viet Hop Software

For those you still rocking legacy devices and have a contact list that sorely requires a little organization, there is this handy utility application. Similar to their popular Contact X application for BlackBerry 10, it gives users the ability to merge, delete, clean, export/import the items in your list without the hassle. Not to mention it also offers a block call function and makes things easier if you do choose to transfer contacts to the newer operating system. For only $.99 you can grab this for most BBOS devices running OS 5 and higher.

Radio Shuffle - Beta by S4BB Limited

Say what you must about the prolific developer but if you are searching for a little variety in your music selections this application caught my eye this week. There are 500 radio stations from around the world you can shuffle and listen to with the option to mark any of them as favorite. There is also a convenient data usage option for those worried about consuming too much on their plan if not on Wi-Fi. Radio Shuffle is free to download so no harm giving it a try and listening to the musical tastes of other countries. It is free to download for BlackBerry 10.

Holy Xmas by TP Soft

To close out the week is another pleasant holiday themed application I came across in the forums. We are only a few days away from Christmas and what better way to celebrate than by customizing your device with wallpapers, ringtones, and xmas messages. It offers a decent selection if you want to spruce up your homescreen. Initially free to download for BlackBerry 10, there is an in-app purchase of $2.99 required to unlock and download all of the content (not just the few free ones). Remember if you want an even bigger selection of backgrounds and tones be sure to head on over to our free ringtone and wallpaper galleries.

What You Might Have Missed

Snipper Social Video for BlackBerry 10

This week we showed you an application that lets you quickly and easily share videos directly from your device to your friends and followers across the various social networks called Snipper Social Video. It allows you to record up to one-minute of video, add tags so others can discover them, save your favorites, and comment on existing ones. While it is an Android port it offers an easy to use interface consisting of tiles, a choice of players, and the option to view in landscape or portrait modes. Available for BlackBerry 10 it is free to download.

Until next week...

That's it for this week folks. For more apps and games be sure to head on over to the forums where you will find even more hidden gems to choose from whether it be for BlackBerry 10, BBOS or the BlackBerry PlayBook. Of course, you can always find the latest and greatest top editor's picks in the CrackBerry App Gallery. Are there any apps or games you would like to see? Feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments.
