Howdy CrackBerry nation! Another week has flown by here and not without a bit of important news. Not only has BlackBerry 10 been named 'The World's Best Mobile OS' by India's Digit Magazine, but they've opened up the registration site for users to be alerted to Passport availability. Speaking of the Passport, our own James Richardson wrote an excellent article on how he's switching back to the Z30 in preparation of it's release. If you haven't read it be sure to check it out.

Now it is time to bring you this week's picks for all your passionate BlackBerry addicts out there. You can find each app and game by clicking through the gallery below. If your favorite did not make the cut this week, remember you can help by offering your suggestions at the end.

Quicklie for Google by Ajani InfoTech Private Limited

Google services has grown over the last few years and as such I have come to use them in my daily life. While I'm not as active on Google+ as I am on BBM Channels and Facebook, being able to access that app as well as Google Docs from my BlackBerry is most welcome. Going through BlackBerry World I spotted Quicklie. While it is a wrapper of the web version of Google, it does conveniently put all of the services in one places for you to access. There are still some basic features missing, most notably the ability to edit a google doc (it only acts as a web viewer). It gives users access to Google Search, Gmail, Google Translate, YouTube, Google Plus, Google Drive, Google News, and Google Maps for $.99. There is a free version, albeit restricted to only a couple of services, which you can download and test.

KeePassB 2 (native beta) by Andrei Popleteev

For me the BlackBerry Password Keeper has always been my main manager and go-to for all of my accounts. However, it is always good to have options especially if you are searching for a solution for both your mobile and desktop needs. Keepass is a free open source cross platform password manager. One developer in the forums has taken it upon himself to code a native version for BlackBerry 10 devices. There are quite a few features including allowong you to read KeePass v2 files (including custom entry fields, file attachments and history of entry changes), copy/paste of all fields, quick unlock function, easy and fast search, flexible settings, active frame cover, automatic database lock on timeout, and integration with Dropbox, Box and other services. The only restrictions at the moment are that v1 databases are not supported and neither saving. The developer is planning on additional features and it does run smoothly. You can purchase for $1.99.

Jigsaw Puzzles Epic by Kristanix Studios AS

Who doesn't love a jigsaw puzzle? Being that hours upon hours of my childhood was filled with figuring out where each piece went, nothing wrong with transitioning that fun over to my BlackBerry. There are over 1,000 HD photographs to choose from in more than 30 different packs and up to 400 pieces. Naturally the small boards, such as 3x3 are quite easy to solve, but there are various levels of difficulty including boards that are timed. As it saves your progress, you can work on several at the same time. In addition, users may purchase additional puzzle packs or grab the premium edition. What stands out for me is the amazing graphics and gameplay. It is certainly a game to help pass the time and keep you occupied. Jigsaw Puzzles Epic supports all BlackBerry 10 handhelds and is free to download.

Ghost Contacts by Alade Designs

From the developer that brought you PillPad, Ghost Contacts is a way for you to communicate with your contacts via BBM, email, and by phone and make sure these conversations remain hidden from prying eyes. There are a few ways it accomplishes this task. Not only does it disguise itself as a different application entirely (the Fortune Teller Pro application) but also incorporates a swipe and click method to access the hidden address book screen which is password protection. The messages are initiated within the application itself and ensures the information remains private. Ghost Contacts is currently on sale for $.99 for a limited time for BlackBerry 10 devices.

Mint.com Personal Finance by Intuit

As someone who needs to control their expenses and finances and monitor their budget, Mint is a good application for accomplishing. In a way it is similar to Check which I have used on BlackBerry for years. Along that vein, the online account does ask for you to sign in using your passwords to all of your accounts. There are some who may not be comfortable with that but they do utilize 128-bit SSL encryption and the data is protected and verified by VeriSign and TRUSTe. That being said the application updates all of your information by automatically pulling your bank and credit card data. This in turn allows you to set goals and create budgets, stay up-to-date with alerts, and if you ever lose your phone you can deactivate access from your online account. Using my Q10 and Z30 (official OS only), I experienced no issues with this application.

What You Might Have Missed

Tutti Bugs! by Sensebyte Mobile

As James so eloquently established earlier in the week, Tutti Bugs is addictive and should come with its own warning label. This native BlackBerry 10 game is truly a gem to download and offers hours of entertainment. It is quite challenging and does in a way resemble Angry Birds as there is physics involved but there is so much more involved. There are over 50 unique levels, more than 20 playable Tutti Bugs and Foods, and special and bonus rounds. In order to advance you will need to collect stars and gain free coins. You certainly won't go wrong with playing this and the graphics are top notch.
