Howdy all, it's time once again for the weekly App Roundup. Now I spent my time wisely this week rustling up some new, cool, and helpful applications for all you BlackBerry addicts to try. Be sure to check them out by clicking through the gallery below and remember you can help by offering your suggestions at the end.

Photo Collage Maker by Omania Technology

When it comes to taking pictures, more often than not we grab our phone over our camera when documenting our lives. This application spruces up your photos into a square collage. It also allows you to add doodles, frames, textures, camera filters, stickers, and then share the final product with your friends and followers. With an easy to use interface and a small footprint you can grab this for legacy devices for $.99.

Writer by Glam Software

As a fan of SlickTasks, I couldn't help but give this application a try. The purpose of this application is to give writers a distraction free environment with which to write on their device. Though it has been around for a while, the interface is clean, it has useful features such as word count to track your progress, folders to organize your writings, color themes, autosaving, backup/restore, and adjustable font size. Not only does it offer the ability to type and go for writing down your ideas or stories but for notes and tasks as well. Available for BlackBerry 10 it is $.99 to buy. The only permission Writer asks is for storage so it can save your documents.

Copy Cat (Heads Up)

Growing up there was always a game night when we would invite friends and family over. This game would have fit in quite nicely. The object of the game is you put a word on your phone and then place it on your forehead so that other players can describe it to you until you guess correctly as many as you can in 60 seconds. With over two hundred words and phrases and eight categories it is sure to keep you and your family entertained. You can find it at the link for $1.99. It supports BlackBerry 10 and it is optimized for the BlackBerry PlayBook as well.

MP3 Cut Pro by Moist House

I admit when I owned my first cell phone (before the smartphone days) I used to connect to my PC and load it up with clips of my favorite mp3's and assign them as ringtones. The downside is that songs can only saved to the phone memory but by using file manager you can move it to your SD card. Also it is coded using Qt/QML and takes a bit to get used to in terms of navigation. However, what I can say is that it is accurate down to the second when creating clips or your own ringtones. There is a free version available though it limits the size to 16 seconds and the premium one for $1.99. It is compatible with BlackBerry 10. So that it can access your music stored on your device or memory card it asks for permission to access shared files.

3 Card Poker - Empire Casino by Empire Casino LLC

If you are searching for an enjoyable poker game for your BlackBerry 10 device, then be to check out this fast-paced poker variant. It allows you to play quick rounds of poker one-on-one. Simply open the app, tap on a table and bet and you can focus your attention on strategy rather than waiting. If you don't like a hand you quickly fold and move on to the next hand. There are daily giveaways to earn coins or you can obtain more with an in-app purchase. However, I find the daily prize keeps me going. This game is easy to play especially for those who prefer three card poker. While the game is simple and the graphics reflect that, it's not bad for a free game to pass the time when you would like to play a quick hand.

What You Might Have Missed

Picture Diary by Titus Braber

We use our smartphone to document both are personal and professional lives so why not take it a step further and document your life in pictures in your own daily diary. Inspired by the 365 day photo challenge for photographers it keeps that premise by only letting users enter in one image per day to either save or share. When chronicling your life in pictures sometimes you need more than one to express an event, however, you only have one so I do suggest you create a collage if you must enter more than one. Fun and creative it will certainly inspire you on a daily basis. Available for BlackBerry 10, you can purchase for $.99. As it stores your photos, it asks for permission to access shared files as well as connecting to BBM, updating your profile, and contact invitations.
