BlackBerry App Roundup for April 4, 2014

A weekly look at new, exciting, and cool apps to try
By Alicia Erlich on 4 Apr 2014 08:58 am EDT

Howdy all, it's time once again for the weekly App Roundup. Now I spent my time wisely this week rustling up some new, cool, and helpful applications for all you BlackBerry addicts to try. Be sure to check them out by clicking through the gallery below and remember you can help by offering your suggestions at the end.

Prem WatsApp

Great, finally some info about permissions included in the app reviews!

Thanks Alicia, good job...

Zzzzwiped from a Zedevice....

Alicia Erlich

You're welcome. I do try :)

I like that too, thanks! Although it is mostly an issue for me when the permissions seem excessive and there is no indication in their BBW description about why.

I wish there were a requirement for all permissions to be explained by developers in the BBW app description and then for an official entity to confirm that the described activity is the only thing for which the permission is used. Call it paranoia, but I like how that would tie up loose ends and make things more transparent. I'm not sure what exactly BlackBerry Guardian and Trend Micro do, but possibly what they consider fine, others may consider Malware.

I don't just wish this for BlackBerry, but for all platforms. I'd just love for things to be clear. If an app sends my device ID and a list of apps on my phone to an ad agency, just say it. In that case, I would love to opt for their paid version that doesn't.

I'd have a lot more apps on my phone if there weren't so much blind trust involved. Maybe I'm just missing something? So many folks seem to have little issue with this....

I second that and agree with Dunkun too.

Great Job Alicia.

Stupid second comment.

Prem WatsApp

Looks like it got deleted. ???

Now you're second comment, and Quickie and drmike will accuse you, but you did nothing wrong.... :-)

"No Q10?" -> "Buy from Chen... "

3 card poker was ok at first, then you realize it's rigged or buggy. I'd have a pair so many times and the dealer would have just a high card and I'd lose. Better off downloading Zynga poker from apktrain.com

Thanks Alicia, a couple this week that caught my eye.

MP3 Cut Pro looks appealing. Definitely going to have a look. Been looking for something like that.

Check out QuickTape on BlackBerry World

Posted via the Android CrackBerry App!

This is one of the main reasons I bought my first ever BlackBerry this year. I really like bb10 and I like being able to turn off app permission. Notice the ad for migration from BlackBerry service at the end of the article.

Being on the job, I find clicking through a gallery frustrating. Please go back to singular page with links.

Well, I'd like to see the app I just published on the bb world, GeoAlarm :P

Hi, Why don't you display actual page titles in "Jump To" drop down menu instead of Page 1, Page 2 etc., so that one can go directly to the page of his/her interest?

Halifax Guy

What was wrong with just being able to scroll through the article? This Page 1, Page 2 is too time consuming.

How 'bout that. Photo Collage Maker isn't available for the Z10.

What case is that on z10 with blue highlights pictured here?
