BlackBerry What’s Next event for T-Mobile happening in March

It's been quite a while since we heard of T-Mobile and RIM teaming up for any announcements but it looks like something is cooking for March in Washington, D.C. Seems as though invitations were sent off for a special event that is welcoming those invited to get a look at what's next for BlackBerry. Hard to say at this point what it may be due to the lack of information available but hopefully we'll get some more details soon. Anyone care to toss some guesses around? The BlackBerry 7 logo makes us believe it'll be BlackBerry 7 related but that's not exactly a dead giveaway.

It would be nice for T-Mo to focus on 7.1 for the 9900 before this event :)
Trini-34 Feb 14, 2012 at 12:20 pm
I second that!!!!
gordonzhao Feb 15, 2012 at 12:23 am
Did you miss the update? T-Mobile is already officially rolling out 7.1.0.205....
KidB Feb 13, 2012 at 6:34 pm
Blackberry 7 is not next, not next at all. it's not even now!
Rootbrian Feb 14, 2012 at 5:38 pm
Yes it is.

I'm really hoping this means we're getting the 9790 finally, but it'll probably something trivial. Or even better, something awesome with no set release date.

Sweet I'm in Baltimore how do I get an invite!?
ciscobear Feb 13, 2012 at 7:03 pm
OS 7? You gotta be kidding me. That was last years OS.
Rootbrian Feb 14, 2012 at 5:40 pm
OS 7 is better than OS 6, it's faster and smoother on the new devices. You don't even have a blackberry so what do you have in this?

they already have 7.1 but maybe they'll have a update with NFC enabled and google wallet or something similar.
NFLPLAYBOOK Feb 13, 2012 at 7:23 pm
They're going to do a limitted release of BB 10. They will have an exclusive BB 10 3G+ version while everyone else waits for the 4G BB 10 devices to be released. : )
birdman_36 Feb 13, 2012 at 11:39 pm
Actually they'll have a BB 11 5G version.

My guess is new Playbook with HSPA+ support and maybe something like the 9790 or Curve Touch. Kinda surprised these two are working together after the short run of the 9810. Maybe T-Mobile finally realized they aren't getting an iPhone, everyone has Android, nobody wants WP7 so time to get something else as a differentiator.

Maybe t-mo is getting the first updated playbooks and will demo the power of owning a bb7 device and a 2.0 playbook refresh with the new processor. .

awesome i got invited to the Miami,FL T-Mobile-Blackberry Event. I wonder what the prizes will be?
MoolahMitch Feb 13, 2012 at 8:30 pm
I am thinking this is a 9790 release but thats not typical of RIM but these are changing times for the Waterloo company.
It would be nice if its the HSPA+ Playbook as OS 2.0 would have been released by then.

Honestly, if it doesn't have anything to do about BB10, I can give a sh!t about it. I have tmobile, I have the Torch 9810, I have OS 7.1.0.205 installed. And quite frankly, I am not to happy with it. Give me some good news about BB10. Right now, I am scared that T-Mobile wont get any BB10 devices, since they are rumored to be LTE. I hope Tmo gets some BB10 love.

Release of the 9790.
4G Playbook on T-Mobile? That's some wishful thinking, but come on its Tmo.
axllebeer Feb 14, 2012 at 7:08 am
If I had to guess, they will be releasing a curve or 2. Nothing to write home about.
Boldly sent from my 9930

So RIM will be in DC twice within 2 weeks. They will be in DC on March 2nd also off of Connecticut Ave too for some enterprise corporate conference. Received a invite on that last week.
EchoTango Feb 14, 2012 at 10:26 am
While in DC, let's hope RIM stops buy and has a chat with some of these Government agencies about RIM's security features.........

T-Mobile just confirmed they have pushed back their 9900 BB os update for 2-weeks. The leaked version (thank you, Kevin) doesn't have NFC enabled. I have registed for this event and will let you know what they have for us (T-Mobile users). Is it a free OS-7 device? T-Mobile about to start selling PlayBooks....
Love you BB-World!!
mavricxx Feb 14, 2012 at 3:19 pm
I hope they release the Curve Touch and the Bold 9790...I wonder. I'd also like to see the new PlayBooks with 42Mbps radio.
seemsixty7 Feb 14, 2012 at 3:53 pm
I'd like to see T-mobile back in RIM's court. they seem to be very Android driven as of late. I've been waiting for the 7.1 update now for a while since it was "announced". Now it looks to be 2 more weeks. Thanks for the update Trini-34!

This event isn’t a media event and T-Mobile won’t be introducing any new products. This particular event is a B2B customer/sales event.
