Though the BlackBerry Storm2 is a much improved device compared to the original and was well-hyped prior to its release, when it came to the Storm2's actual launch it seemed Verizon was not all that interested in putting it front and center in their promotions, instead throwing their BIG marketing dollars and efforts behind the Droid (to be fair, there was this one decent decent Storm2 commercial).

It's good to see then that Big Red is showing a little more love for the Storm2 in their latest we're better than AT&T commercial, which is not only pretty funny, but flashes the BlackBerry Storm2 all over the place. Good commercial. Makes me feel like heading to the nearest 7-11 to see if they have any Big Red in stock. Do they still sell that stuff? Thanks to Dave for sending this in!

Big Red Shows the BlackBerry Storm2 Some Love in Their Latest We're Better Than AT&T Commercial

yeah do your research, dont live in the real world where I see verizon storm users getting web pages and downloading actually slower than my ATT EDGE device.

you my friend r idiot...use a unlocked storm on att edge and then compare it with it on verizon 3g, then say something...btw ive tried it, and yup u r still an idiot

Ever notice in the att ads they say coverage not 3g they are doing that to skirt around the truth in advertising laws. The add with the post cards and the map att is using just voice coverage not 3g.

That is because AT&T's concern with the verizon 'map' ads, and part of their lawsuit, was that verizon's maps show 3G coverage. AT&T was worried that, without reading the fine print in verizon's
ad, people would think that it was a voice coverage map and not a 3G map. So that is what AT&T is trying to set straight with ads like the postcard ad. It's no more deceptive than verizon displaying only 3G maps, which people could easily interpret as a flat out coverage map.

Iphone buddy is always on Edge and he was trying to show me this girl on facebook, after waiting and waiting for pics load, I went and snagged my Tour and was looking at pics on facebook before he even loaded.

So your statement is that of complete ignorance and shows someone is bitter they cant get on Big Red. Waaambulance anyone?

That was awesome. I remember all those big red gum commercials. This definitely made me laugh out loud. Good job Verizon marketing department. You win.

I'm talkin' about the hottie in the short red dress....she's smokin' hot and her legs.....wowowowowowow....

I could watch her in that commerciall all day long...

HAHA the guy walking in the background is holding a sign saying "TOUR", the big debate get a storm or go with a tour..

just saved this to my hard drive, gonna encode it and put it on my blackberry.

as for AT&T vs VZW... psh if it works for you use it.. but i cant count how many of my friends on AT&T ask to use my phone because they cant get a decent signal to save their life lol. dropped calls, cant stream a radio channel etc from their iphones etc..

i used to hate on VZW and was pro sprint.. but i found out that sometimes the grass IS greener on the other side.

cheers

"download stupid stuff much better"....lol thats too funny....good job VZW....not bad at all lol....but i feel blessed to have AT&T

is that really something someone is interested in? I just find it funny... I am waiting for AT&T to come out with the marketing plan...nanny nanny boo boo next...

I actually wish i could surf the web while on a call. It's at the bottom of my priority list, but its nice.

Since all new Blackberries including and post-Storm2 have Wifi, you can pick up a new phone and talk+surf simultaneously, provided you're in a hotspot.

really what it boils down to is we wish we could do data and voice at the same time.. for instance, i cant count how many times my boss has called me and asked me to text or email him so and so's number or info.. it would be nice if while i'm on the call to hit speaker phone, and send him what he needs there all the while continuing to talk about whatever it is he/i need etc..

so no.. its not always about browsing the web per-say.. but being able to send emails or txts while on a call would come in handy.. but meh.. i'll take my coverage and speed in most of the areas AT&T doesnt have around here in favor of simultaneous data/voice..

Well good luck finding 3g coverage to do that in. hahahaa

What ever happen to calling someone back. Nothing like waiting on the line for someone to surf......sorry I do not have time to wait. Call me back when YOU sort it out. hahaha

You can definitely text him while you're talking to him on the phone on VZdub - texting works off of the voice network - it's the DATA stuff you can't do (pix, email)

Unless you're in wifi, as listed before

I'd love to use data and talk at the same time. It seems silly that I can tether and make phone calls, yet cannot browse the web on my BB while on a call. It really doesn't make much sense to me.

Maybe someone can explain to me why this isn't possible with big bubble gum red?

OMG! The guys who played Zelenka from Stargate Atlantis is the artist guy in the beret right at the beginning. How far have you fallen Dr. Zelenka?!?!?!

RIM should come out with a giant storm so it could compete with the stupid ipad and put it with big red! Now that would be awsome!

i even chuckled a little bit and i agree verizon is better than AT&T its just to bad that the storm2 isn't better than the iphone they should've used the droid in this ad instead at least thats an device worthy enough of actually being stiff compention to the iphone. after having the droid i can't say that i miss my blackberry because i don't, its a world of diffrence and since i rooted my droid with the latest and greatest OS and features of the nexus one its gotten even better, now my droid can do absoultly everything the hyped nexus one can do plus i got the physical keyboard unlike the N1 so thats 1 up for the droid. i hope blackberry can step it up because the phones of the future are getting better and better, if blackberry doesn't start improving they're gonna become extinct like dinosaurs, CD players and VCR's, LOL!

I don't have the uber-techie response, but essentially all talk communications on the CDMA network occur on the 1X digital CDMA, out since 2000. The 3g EVDO is a separate signal, and with the CDMA technology you can only use one at a time, hence when you get a call you cannot surf the web (unless you're connected to wifi). With 4G LTE you will be able to do both, and it will be the common denominator for all phones, so then we will truly see how much better Verizon's network is versus AT&T.

This is funny to me:

Ok some facts:

1.Verizon has a bigger 3G coverage area than AT&T but of course Verizon does not show AT&T partner coverage.

2.AT&T's 3G speed is faster (for now) than Verizon's but that will also depend on where you are, weather, etc.

3.The only thing thats keeping Verizon going is the fact that they have the Storm and Android. (AT&T will have 5 by the end of the year)

4.If Verizon wins thier bid to carry iPhone, they will have to start from the ground up with their network and drop that EV stuff.

I like the commercials between the 2 companies and it funny to see how much each company is willing to spend to say they are the best. Here's a thought: How about both companies stop these crazy commercials and re-invest that money into their employees.

3.The only thing thats keeping Verizon going is the fact that they have the Storm and Android. (AT&T will have 5 by the end of the year)

>>> What do you mean by this?

4.If Verizon wins thier bid to carry iPhone, they will have to start from the ground up with their network and drop that EV stuff.

>>> It's called LTE...its rolling out in 30 major cities later this year.
