The best Christmas movies you can buy on your BlackBerry

By Adam Zeis on 23 Dec 2013 02:06 pm EST

I am a movie buff but I never really care to watch movies out of season -- so when Christmas time rolls around I try to pack all the Christmas movies I can into my viewing schedule. I've since sold off all of my DVDs so I currently rely on TV for most of the classics. Those that I couldn't find on TV this year I sought out on my BlackBerry. Not only will I have them at the ready when I need them, but I can also just bring my phone along to my in-laws or parents house and pop on a movie whenever I want.

So I've compiled a list of the best Christmas movies for BlackBerry that you can buy (or rent) from BlackBerry World:

These are for the US so some prices may vary and some movies may not be available in your region.

A Charlie Brown Christma ($9.99)
A Christmas Stor ($11.99 / $2.99)
Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas ($7.99)
Emmet Otters Jug Band Christmas ($9.99 / $3.99)
Mickey's Christmas Carol ($19.99)
The Muppet Christmas Carol ($11.99)
The Nightmare Before Christmas ($11.99)
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation ($11.99 / $2.99)
Jingle All the Way ($0.99 / $2.99)
Elf ($9.99)
The Polar Express ($9.99 / $2.99)
The Santa Clause ($11.99)

This is just a short list of some of my all-time favorite. What are yours? Hit up the comments and let us know!

The best Christmas movies you can buy on your BlackBerry

I just watched A Nightmare Before Christmas last night! Such an awesome movie... also if anyone has Hulu, Check out Switchmas. It's really funny and heart-warming. Done by a family friend trying to make it in the industry!

C00270EBC check out my Tattoo channel! Brought to you by Laughing Buddha Tattoo and Body Piercing

11.99 for National Lampoons?! Seriously?! Visit any Petrol station. Find the DVD Bargain bucket and enjoy! It's a great film!

Trivia: The Kid in the film (who plays Chevvy's son) is Leonard on Big Bang!

I used to buy movies with my Z10 but with the Q10 for some reason my files are always corrupted :(

I've bought two movies via BlackBerry World. Both times can not download and watch as says license expired. Even if within hrs of buying it. I no longer trust videos on BlackBerry World and there is no easy way to get help with this issue. I've tried CB and BlackBerry website and can't figure out how to get help with this. $13 wasted. Oh well. BlackBerry won't get anymore of my $$$ for movies or TV shows.

Thank you!!! I've not seen that and could not find anything like thru CB search, BlackBerry forums search or Google search. Apparently I was not using proper search terms!

Thanks again :)

I've discovered there is 'a trick' to playing these videos, although it's dumb that this should be the case. I received the same error message bs about license expiry when I tried to play a movie. This seemed to be because I was trying to run the video file from the file browser app. Instead, I went to BlackBerry World and pressed the 'play' button. The film played as normal. I'm assuming this is some sort of DRM restriction gone mad, because it's not even recognising the file browser as being in the same device. Ah well. Give that a try.

I buy most of my movies and music elsewhere, because it is too high in the BlackBerry store if it isn't on sale.

Yeah, Poland don't know about movies from BlackBerry World - we couldn't download any of them...

Gotta say my all time favorite is A Christmas Story. An absolute classic. Plays for 24 hours starting Christmas Eve at 8PM on TBS in the U.S. We usually have it on at least 12 of those hours. Not sitting endlessly in front of the TV but runs in the background. If you've never seen it, give it a watch. Well worth the time.

I can't find "Love Actually" on the BlackBerry store.

It is the only christmas movie my wife wants to watch and it is not available...
