There are going to be lots of things to pick up when going back to school and your phone will most likely be one of the important things by your side so you're going to need some useful accessories to go with it. We've already looked at a handful of useful BlackBerry 10 apps which you should check out if you haven't already. There are loads of accessories to choose from so we've picked out some to aid you through the year.
BlackBerry Charger Bundle
If you own a BlackBerry Z30, you probably won't need one but a charger bundle is always useful to have. I carry around the 2100mAh BlackBerry charger bundle which juices up your device quite quickly. However, if you own a BlackBerry Q10 or Z10 and want a spare battery, you can check out the charger bundles which come with a battery. You can use it as an external charger or just swap out the battery. I don't always have to use it but for longer days they're great for a quick top up.
This is an accessory that has been around for a while but is one that a lot recommend. The BlackBerry Music Gateway connects to speakers allowing you to then stream music from your BlackBerry device, so you can still carry it around the house and control the music. You can even use it in the car. Your BlackBerry device pairs up with the Music Gateway via Bluetooth but if you have an NFC-enabled device, you can pair it up that way too. It's really an awesome accessory to have and is small enough to carry around in your pocket.
Instead of just going with general Bluetooth headphones I thought I recommend what I personally use to listen to music when on the road - Velodyne vFree headphones. What I love about the headphones is that it can be used either wirelessly via Bluetooth or wired. Useful for when the charge is out, you can still listen to your music by plugging in. There are controls on the headphones so you can play/pause music and adjust the volume without having to pull out your phone, though these only function when used wireless. The controls also don't look obvious either (apart from the volume buttons) which makes it look cool. When used wirelessly they can also take calls as there is a microphone too. As far as the sound quality goes, you get nice bass sounds. The Velodyne vFree comes in three colours - white, black, silver. Though the silver is more of a grey. They're also foldable and come with a carry case so they store away nicely in your bag.
There are plenty of cases available for BlackBerry devices. I've always like the simplicity of the OEM BlackBerry cases like the Hard Shell case for the Q10. It doesn't add too much bulk and covers up the phone nicely for protection as well as adding a bit of style. With its soft rubber finish it adds a solid grip though the back is less grippy. All the buttons are covered but they are still very easy to press down. It doesn't offer heavy duty protection but if you want something that doesn't add bulk, it's a good choice.
If want something that adds more protection the Incipio DualPro does well being a double layer case - the silicone core layer then a hard outer shell. The outer shell has a rubberized finish to add grip. All the buttons are covered but easily pressed. The ports are not covered but sometimes this is preferred for easy access. I'm a fan of Incipio case for their quality.
