Bell Set To Release Bold 9000 In Black, Rogers Preparing Bold 9000 In White

Everyone is fully aware by now that the BlackBerry Bold 9700 is set to release across Rogers and Bell. Some new information has come about lately though regarding the BlackBerry Bold 9000 which shows it will be released on Bell in it's original black color, while Rogers takes a lesson from the AT&T play book and prepares the Bold 9000 in the sexy white that Kevin loved while at CTIA. No concrete word on the availablity of the devices as of yet, but we'll let ya know as soon as we know. More screen shots available via BGR

Bell is finally turning on their HSPA network at the end of the month. So from what I heard they will have a good selection of handsets, Including the Bold, iPhone, and darn hopefully the Storm 2 (As I just got my Storm 1, but I always want the latest and greatest!)

Is Bell going GSM or something? I don't get it.

Nah, they just thought they'd start selling phones that don't work on their network.

Do you live under a rock?

(Yes, Bell and Telus have been working on an HSPA network for some considerable time).

I was talking about voice service. They've been on 3G for long without switching to GSM.

Hey CurlyFatAngry, it's a perfectly appropriate question i think. Because originally even I thought that they were bringing out HSPA just for their blackberries for data. But They are doing the full switch. From now on out ALL devices will have the HSPA card for both Voice and Data, and will be world enabled, and back compatable to GSM.

They will allow CDMA to work for a few years for their old devices, but eventually will turn it off. Kinda like old Analog.

I hope that white housing becomes available aftermarket too.

Great invention. I will surely try this.

Us Canadians are getting milked by Rogers over Blackberry prices and 3-year contracts. Hopefully having devices over all 3 networks will drag the price down so 3-year contracts aren't unbearable.

Though if they really wanted to get prices down, they would open the markets up to foreign companies.

Does this mean we finally get the Bold on Telus? If it's better than my Tour, I'm upgrading.
