BeejiveIM 2.0 Release Candidate 1 Now Available With Support For OS 5.0 Devices

BeeJive has been working hard as of late to get their multi IM application fully ready for 5.0 devices. Not too long after they had released the beta of 1.9.7 they now have available BeeJive 2.0 Release Candidate 1 up for grabs. Hopefully some of the left over bugs from 1.9.7 have been addressed in this release but the feature set remains unchanged. Features include:

  • file transfers via link, you can now transfer files to buddies on all IM accounts.
  • email push when app running in background (see preferences in app).
  • send voice notes
  • send GPS location (if supported by phone)
  • new chat styles & background images
  • new buddy list layouts
  • improved battery life
  • overall UI redesign
  • facebook IM
  • various other bug fixes & enhancements

If you were running the 1.9.7 beta, delete it and grab the 2.0 update. Download links and support are available from the Beejive forums.

It sure is! Just downloaded it on my BOLD 9000 w/ OS 5.0.0.314, and it works just fine. :)

Depends what kind of license you purchase. For $19.95 you get a DEVICE license, which is only good for the Blackberry itself. So if you lose (or sell) your phone the license gets lost with it too. For $29.95 you get a USER license, which is good for life regardless of which phone you have.

I'm glad they updated this again, it works fantastically. 1.9.7 worked pretty good too, and it was just released a couple weeks ago. Thanks for the awesome work Beejive!!

crazy how these apps cost so much for blackberry, this app is ONLY $6.95 for the iphone. i lucked out and won the IM+ in a CB contest and its a UNIVERSAL key as i have changed my phone about 6 times (storm) and the registration key stayed the same.

So far I like it.....

It did however freeze up on me once. And as I type this I have to restart my phone because the light would not stop blinking after it froze up on me. Kept saying I had a msg but I really did not. THAT'S kind of annoying.

An issue I am having with the phone itself. Would be that when I got into messages... and do delete prior it will clear out... but I have to scroll down for them to clear.

OR sometimes when I went to switch to an SMS it will go to another SMS :(

Im using a 9630 and my beejiveIM does not alert me with sound when i have a new message, it only displays the icon. Is this because I only have the 30 day trial or is no one else having this problem?
