Bee offers a native Tumblr experience for BlackBerry 10

Although there is no official support for Tumblr on BlackBerry 10, that hasn't stopped developers from tapping into their available API to offer some apps. Previously, we saw Trapeez arrive on BlackBerry 10 and now the same developer behind the recently released FlickrUp has gone ahead and released Bee for BlackBerry 10. Bee is a Qt app that has been rebuilt using native Cascades to offer the best possible experience on BlackBerry 10.

The features are, for the most part, as you would expect from Tumblr but there is a few things missing due to the limitations imposed by the blogging platform. For example, the 'Ask' options are not available nor is the messages inbox. With that out of the way though, Bee does support posting, reblogging, editing posts, liking and unliking items and of course, tag search. All the things you'd really need to use the service.

If you've been looking for a good Tumblr app, Bee might just be what you need in your life. It's available now in BlackBerry World for all BlackBerry 10 smartphones but if you're looking to get in on the action, it will set you back $1.99, which isn't all that bad. Not as good a free mind you but it is native and the chances of Tumblr releasing a native BlackBerry 10 app do seem slim.

As much as I like Blaq, I have to say i agree. Trapeez hasn't been a great experience for me. Will give this a shot.

Since 10.2, it has literally been useless. No scrolling for me at all in Trapeez. I really happened this gets the Blaq treatment soon and becomes useful again.

It's a blogging platform. But I think it's great for sharing awesome pictures, where we can also like and re-blogged others' post. Try following me to get the idea,

You will get the idea.
The browser works better for me than Trapeez.

Any chance we'll get a video review of this along with the article? Since this is a paid app it would be nice to see it in action, especially because the other available Tumblr apps have received less than stellar reviews.

I use the web version also, and I've found it perfectly sufficient for me.

Props to the developer though for putting out a native app

I paid the requested 1.99 but tag searching is busted at least on the Q10. App world doesn't let me post a review for some reason so I'll bitch here. Warning if you want to do tag search with this app, save your 2 bucks. Man I wish BlackBerry had a refund policy like google.

The problem is we are paying for some popular apps that should be free like in other platforms, and the experience is even worse.
It's happened with Flickrup, BeMap, soundnine, Instago...

Going to start waiting to buy 3rd party apps for social networks. They're always half ass at first release and don't meet up with the functions of the other OS platforms app. That being said, great that we got it.
