I beta tested this application for a a few weeks i must say that is a a really nice little application, i highly suggest getting it......

Purchased, downloaded and installed. After installing did a battery pull (twice).

It's not intercepting the SMS messages on my 8330 running 4.5.0.160

I've never paid for an app before. But if they offer a Storm Compatible version, I will definitely buy THIS app!

As long as it there is no duplicate entry for SMS texts....and based on the screen shot, I think there is (2 SMS icons appear on the screen shot - one for the app, and 1 from the native SMS).
Has this been addressed / or confirmed by anyone else?

why make apps nowadys and not include compatibility for the storm? wheather you love it or hate it alot of people own the device. really is a shame, i was 2 seconds away from buying it.....now if they do come around with the storm version how will we know?

I really dont like getting a notification in default sms and bchat sms when i get a new message. Even after reading the message in bchat it doesnt clear the default notification. And theres been a few times the notification for bchat didnt go away after reading new sms as well, both problems are deal breakers for me but i already paid for it, luckily its only 99 cents lol. Uninstalled it and waiting for an update, hopefully soon because i do like it.

Number 1: You can't choose which number to send to a contact.
Number 2: It isnt working properly and I set a few extra permissions as well. I can send the text but it won't pick up the replies.
Number 3: I don't mind if this is still begin tested (somehow) but I just purchased it and it should be working fine.

developer here! storm version is coming tonight, just wanted to finalize a few things. Sorry if you are having problems, it was tested on all major carriers, and models and it does work. If you have another app that interacts with the sms already running there is a conflict as currently there is only one app allowed to listen for incoming texts.

Does this support MMS as well? I just downloaded it and it does not appear to.

What is threaded sms? What are the benefits?

Its ok, I love the threaded feature but I hate the fact that I still have to delete the messages from my regular SMS inbox :(

If you want to stop having SMS messages going to the default inbox AND the bchat, you have to go into security and have the firewall block SMS. Then set permission to bchat to allow all the SMS stuff.

I haven't tried this program, but I use 3JAM Threaded SMS (which works great by the way) and after following those instructions I've never had a duplicate or interference.

The app is not exactly what you think it is. You have to create a list of people first with whom you want to have threaded text/chat. It does not automatically add the conversation in threaded format unless it is one of the selected people on your list. Not really efficient for all texting. For $0.99 it's worth a try, you might like it but personally I did not care for it and I am waiting for RIM to hopefully release some sort of threaded SMS since they already have it on their BB Msgr

I believe that this should have been implemented in the beginning to compete.

i followed wut ophrawinfrey said to do which is block the sms on your firewall and allow bchat to accept the sms and it worked...thanku!
cuz i was getting mighty angry at the fact of getting duplicate msgs...hopefully this ends it....
the only funny thing is dat when my red light indicates a msg, it wont turn green unless i exit really quick and go back in, even after i respond to the text...hmmmmm

I do not like that it leaves messages in my regular sms and does not turn off the notification.

Also does not support BB input shortcuts. No periods after two spaces, auto capitalization etc.

I donot receive the replys in my bchat window. i can start a conversation but when someone replies it goes straight to my sms inbox. Did anyone have that problem, and how did they fix it?!

It doesn't save a full conversation like BBM, but I'm able to see the last 8 msgs in a text conversation. Isn't that "threaded" ?

I have NOT gotten this to work on my 8350i. Perhaps this is because sprint uses MMS and not SMS.

I did the firewall thing so hopefully that works. I know its only 99cens but I think the background is too simple. I have seen some threaded sms that have like fb photos and more color to it. when is the update and do I have to repay?

So what i did to stop the duplicate text, like others have said, was to disable sms under options-security-firewall and i dont get the duplicates. Im liking this text so much more than the UI's text setup.

After going into the firewall menu and blocking sms and giving bchat full permissions my BB Tour doesn't ring when I get a text. Is there a way to change this?

Nevermind. I didn't realize bchat had its own set of alerts under "other". I got it now.

Seriously people? Give me an application or anything on that note that has been released and worked PERFECTLY. This developer is SUPER nice and replies quickly to peoples questions. If you dont want to waste your measly .99 on this app then dont do it. I have a storm and didnt realize it didnt work on the storm, emailed the developer and he tried everything he could to make it work and then said he would update me when it is updated for the storm. Thats customer service!! I think honestly they should charge a bit more for this because its such a wanted feature. And for those of you who are complaining about its flaws, do it in a nice way. Or develop your own PERFECT working application so we can all ooohh and awwee over it. THANKS DEVELOPER!!

For $0.99 it is not that bad. I am just disappointed it doesn't people you have not added for a new conversation. This does not make it a complete replacement for the BB SMS, so I cannot use it unfortunately. When does 5.0 come out? :)

Here I thought this would be an app that would group my Text message contacts like it does in BBM and I was sadly mistaken. You can "text" your peeps but when they respond it's only in the SMS folder not the app. I guess IF they also have the app it'll show their response. I'm glad it was only a waste of $.99 So it's basically like another chat app but only works if someone else has the pointless app! DON'T WASTE YOUR $.99!!!

I know that this prog is only 99cents so i shouldnt really complain but i feel like i actually wasted 99cents on this program. I dont know what expected but this wasnt it. I want threaded sms and i guess i will just have to wait for the new os to come out

I'm not receiving incoming texts on the app. It works fine with sending out texts but when I receive texts they only go to the default SMS inbox. I have an 8330m and I'm running 4.5.0.138.... help please?

its a nice app but you kinda lose some functionality if youre a verizon customer such as it being you wont get that delivery confirmation thing. also does this count as data vs sms or its still sms? and finally the led keeps blinking unless when you go to the conversation you press escape. if you press end even though seemingly you went to the convo you read it and press end it still blinks, you must hit escape.

All of you complaining about duplicate message indications in the native SMS and bChat would have your issue resolved if you would simply READ the previous comments. It has been stated several times to firewall text messages for the native SMS app in the security options.

Two quick points:

1 - I've been using 3jam threaded texting (http://www.3jam.com/download/bb/beta/) for the past six months and haven't looked back since - It's awesome. And from what I can tell, 3jam's interface is a lot more user-friendly than this one.

2 - As far as getting duplicate sms notifications, this is caused by RIM, not by the application. Regardless, there's a solution regardless of what program you're using - Simply firewall and block sms messages from coming through and you'll only get texts from the 3rd party program.

This app does work the way it says - threading of sms.

It does not provide a timestamp however for each text!

Such a simple thing to add a timestamp to each incoming/outgoing SMS in the threaded list.

DEVELOPER, please look into it!

I'm think this is a great program. With a few tweaks e.g time stamp...

Only issue I noticed is that once you check your sms message on bChat, it still shows it unread in messages.So you have to check both of them to get rid of the new message icon at the top.

So I installed this program this morning on my Curve 8900 on Tmo...and here are the issues I ran into. I set the firewall to block SMS messages, so that took care of the duplicates. But, even after I read the message in bchat and then used the esc key to back out it still showed the bchat new msg icon at the top. I can send and receive just fine and I like how it works. I do wish that the program used the same typing inputs as the other applications...like capitalization, auto period and other auto text features. I did notice that even after I looked at someones new msg and then when I backed out the person's name was still highlight red like I never read it. Other then that its a pretty cool program and you can't beat a buck for it. If those bugs can be worked out I'll use it indefinitely. But I had to uninstall it because I couldn't deal with the bchat msg indicator always up there...lol.

I love this app but i wish that you would be able to use the double tap space for a period. i am in the habit of doing that and not having it is hard! other then that, awesome app.

if you receive a sms from the person whose conversation you are currently viewing, the notification isn't marked as read; the star is still present and the led continues to flash. thanks!

Just make sure you follow directions on blocking your regular SMS so you don't get 2 messages.
Works like a champ!! And for .99 are you kidding me... What wouldn't I buy for .99 :-)

I would like it to give you a status update regarding message delivery. There is no way to tell if the message failed or was delivered - at least I have not seen any indications.

I have a Blackberry Storm 9350. It just stopped working.

is there a way to redirect the bchat to your messages folder similar to the way you can like email,sms, and bbm to your messages folder on the home screen?

Anyone have problem with it working on VZW curve 8330? I can send messages from the app fine, but I cannont receive any in the app. I have "allowed" on all the permissions for the app.

i downloaded this app and i was able to send messages, but not receive them in the app. I followed directions people had about allowing bchat to receive messages and what not, but it still doesnt work. let me know if there is anything else i can do to make it work. i really think this app would be awesome if i could receive messages in the app.
