For BlackBerry Beta Zone users, you may have noticed an e-mail about a BBM beta update for BlackBerry 10. We're not entirely sure if this is a limited beta as previous builds have been but you can go ahead a load up the Beta Zone and check to see if you have an update.
There doesn't seem to be a changelog for this build, it looks more like a bug fix update to improve the overall BBM experience but if you notice anything new, hit up the comments.
One of the main areas of focus for this upcoming release will be to ensure we continue to deliver the best in class BBM experience on your BlackBerry 10 device. Please load up the build right away and let us know how it works overall!
One thing the e-mail does note is that you may lose your existing chats after updating.
Update: A list of some of the new features discovered so far
- Landscape mode
- Option to have keyboard 'Always On' for touchscreen users
- Inline group pictures - Pictures will also show up in the Pictures section
- Slight bigger emoticons
- BBM Channels tabs tweaked - Shows name for tab instead of icons
- In BBM previews modified - Now show under the BBM top bar and are grey
If you haven't done so already, check the Beta Zone app for the update. If you haven't got a BlackBerry Beta Zone account yet, you can sign up for one for free. Though it isn't available in all regions.
