Any idea how many paying subscribers it has now?

Don't really use BBM much anymore so for me I don't see this as a big plus, but I could see where anyone with a big group of friends might enjoy it.

There is quite alot now. Also no contact I have on BBM music is a BBM contact. RIM did a bad job explaining this but you can request contacts with in BB music.

Yeah. Definitely don't focus on coming out with new phones. I would definitely spend as much time and effort updating the most useless, irrelevant, unused, music app out there. For the one guy who uses BBM Music (ie the CEO of BB) it will now crash, less. Forget massive dropoff in market share. BBM Music must be up to date!!!

Are you seriously this bitter? How can you assume that just because they updated the bbm music app that they are ignoring the upcoming phones?

So what you are suggesting is that RIM stop investing into their current customers in order to build a platform that still isn't proven to increase their following? It makes no sense. I love Blackberry Music and it is now the only platform that I use. I also love my 9930 eventhough I'm going through some freezing up issues.

You seriously need a hug.

I have been using BBM Music for over 1 month now and have over 200 connections and over 4000 songs I can listen to. None of these people were from my BBM list. Anyone with a Blackberry can connect to me. It is a fantastic and sticky service. I have been discovering new and re-discovering old favourites through my contacts and building up a huge favourite playlist. Judging from the activity and positive comments and status' of my contacts many many many users love BBM Music. I think it is a great service to keep people active on their berries other than email. It could also serve to retain BB users who might think twice before switching to another platform and not have BBM Music.

App World using a Rogers account only has free for 2 months. Oh well. 2 months is better than 30 days

In Australia we don't get the 4 months free subscription.

I downloaded BBM Music when it became available to Aus in November, and we only got 1 month free, even though other countries got 2 months free.

Now - after loading this update we don't get any extra free time.

We have to pay ..... THAT SUCKS!!!

Been using it for a while now 442 contact over 8300 songs. I have set up a number of playlist but mostly use one with over 700 songs in it (random play). At 5 bucks a month seems to be a good deal to me.

This update locks up my Torch 9800 completely. I downloaded the update and installed it. When I agree the the addendum my phone freezes solid. Not sure what I can do about it. The biggest disappointment is that I am actually paying for BBM service now.

I updated on my Torch 9800 and it works fine. Try uninstall reinstall and reboot.

My 9800 completely froze on me as well. Once the download completed it just sat there frozen, screen on, at the Installing screen for 10+ minutes. I eventually gave up and reset the phone.

The second attempt at installing froze as well, but I just left it. Eventually it finished, despite having been completely frozen for seemingly ever. It also froze the first time launching the program - right after agreeing to the TOS and connecting with BBM. After a few minutes or so it came back to life.

Thankfully it works OK now! And has been fine ever since. I was a bit worried when it initially froze as I hadn't done a backup in over a month.

Uninstalled and reinstalled and still no action. All I want for Christmas in my BBM music playlists back.
