does this mean it will come out sept-oct?

Posted by psiclne Tuesday, Aug 23, 2011 266 days ago

The 9900 is no where to be seen from at&t - perhaps another 9780?

Posted by Statehouse Tuesday, Aug 23, 2011 266 days ago

blahhhhhh.

What are those weird names: Danava and Maero? AT&T internal lingo?

Posted by johuntbb Tuesday, Aug 23, 2011 266 days ago

i believe this roadmap may be either outdated or incomplete cz there is even no the new iphone, which is almost sure to be released in Q4 by AT&T

Posted by netwerx1 Tuesday, Aug 23, 2011 266 days ago

AT&T is seriously giving RIM the finger...really bending them and their BlackBerry fans over by delaying the new releases so long. I do see the Galaxy S II and what looks like the Atrix II on that list though, so it looks like it might finally be time to cut the rope and try something new if these are indeed released before the 9900.

Posted by sk8er_tor Tuesday, Aug 23, 2011 266 days ago

AT&T is so screwed up. And Verizon disabling the NFC is also screwed up. There's something wrong with those two companies... or maybe they're in bed with Apple. Perhaps AT&T doesn't want/is being asked by Apple to not sell the 9900 before the new iPhone in October?

Posted by ugahairydawgs Tuesday, Aug 23, 2011 266 days ago

Yeah...I'm sure Apple is really concerned about Bold 9900 sales.

Posted by biggietoms Tuesday, Aug 23, 2011 266 days ago

What a crock of you know what, Im so mad im gonna crap myself where's the 9900?

Just had contact with att on Blackberry Bold 9900. Their comment was they had no comment on releasing the 9900. Pretty much what everyone has said. att is dumping Blackberry for iphone and others. Guess RIM did not pony up like the others. Too bad, I really like the 9700 and the keyboard. Does anyone know of a phone other than Blackberry that has a keyboard like that? Thanks

BB has been put on the backburner - yes. But you have to realize that AT&T is big in the business world and BB still continues to dominate in that segment.

Posted by leicashot Tuesday, Aug 23, 2011 266 days ago

Its pretty obvious that AT&T are trying to secure the exclusive release of the iPhone 5 (which is smart), and delaying the release date of the 9900 until Apple gives them more information.

Posted by biggietoms Tuesday, Aug 23, 2011 266 days ago

ya they think if they don't announce the 9900 that most of us will just get the Iphone5 and forget about the 9900.

Posted by AbstraKt Tuesday, Aug 23, 2011 266 days ago

There have been reports that Sprint will also carry the iP5.

Sounds like the 9900 will be rushed out within the next few weeks (we are still in AT&T's Q3).

Posted by Aceroller Tuesday, Aug 23, 2011 266 days ago

That my fiend would be quite awesome!! AT&T has already confirmed that they are releasing the 9900, and I believe it is being field-tested right now. So maybe this is a good sign for a Q3 release. One can always hope.

AT&T is in love with Apple and too busy with their acquisition of T-Mobile, that they can't notice what's going on...so many BlackBerry fans will be leaving them for other companies. If they are so sure of their all mighty iPhone 5, then how could the release of two new BlackBerries one month ahead of the iPhone hurt their sales?

They forget that they aren't the only ones with the iPhone anymore. They no longer have an upper hand...and according to WSJ, Sprint will also be getting the iPhone 5...and with their lower unlimited plans, they should do pretty well

Posted by Aceroller Tuesday, Aug 23, 2011 266 days ago

I think this has more to do with the 9810 than the iPhone 5. It seems that all the carriers will be getting the iPhone 5, so why is AT&T the only one holding out on the 9900. I believe they are just trying to leverage the 9810 exclusive, but are pissing a lot of customers off in the meantime. I have been a long time AT&T customer, and happy with their service, but am very disappointed that they are the only carrier not to have the 9900 yet.

I am in the same boat.

Posted by BerryPotter Tuesday, Aug 23, 2011 266 days ago

AT&T is the worst. Might have to jump ship to a more blackberry friendly company.

I hate AT&T but I think you have to admit $49 for the Torch was awesome. I got it because I don't know when the Bold will come out. There is still a 75% chance I will get the bold from them (off contract) when it comes out.

I really con't see it is in their interest not to offer the bold. They may want to push execs to the iPhone but a ton of them won't go and they know it. As we've seen on here even the CEO (ex) of Google used a blackberry the whole time he was running google.

I believe they will get it. They were likely pissed because they likely wanted an exclusive and RIM said no. They are pricing the Torch at $49 to keep people away from Verizon and Sprint (and it worked on me I was all set to jump ship to Sprint) but $49! I said give the Torch a try maybe in the end you won't even get the Bold, just too good to pass up.

God I'm starting to hate AT&T with a passion. The only reason i haven't yet is I'm still on their grandfathered data plan. They should have 9900 on release with the torch 9810.

I took the time to email AT&T business services about my displeasure with their not releasing the Bold 9900 when all major carriers in the US and Canada have. The email I got back said that they would pass along my feedback to management. My hope is that my fellow CrackBerry nation member that are waiting for the 9900 to be released on AT&T also do the same thing. Maybe the flood of emails threatening to leave if they don't carry the 9900 sooner than November will prompt them to push the release date forward a month or two. Just my 2 cents as I'm impatiently waiting the the 9900 just like most of you.

I was told by the local AT&T rep that the bold 9900 is definitely coming to their store soon.

Posted by mnhockeycoach99 Wednesday, Aug 24, 2011 265 days ago

As much as I want to believe this rep, I think they are generally the last people to know about new phone releases. Hopefully you/he are right..

Posted by Itzjusnick Tuesday, Aug 23, 2011 266 days ago

Yea, they discontinued the bold series remember after the 9700. No 9780 no reports of the 9900 and the other bold what is it? Don't remember the number but no reports on it.

Posted by romanh99 Tuesday, Aug 23, 2011 266 days ago

I will give att untill the end of september to give me a concrete date for the new bold 9900. If nothing is stated im leaving to verizon!

Att sucks!

Posted by simcell Wednesday, Aug 24, 2011 266 days ago

You must be very careful if you want the 3g and 4g to work properly att 3g uses 850 and 1900 mhz i think tmobile uses 1700 mhz i would double and triple check idk rogers but i think their the same as att
Good luck im waiting it out :(

2 devices show up as Q3 soooo....Q1 '12 for 9900?!? Pahahahahahaaa (9810 owner) :D

Posted by Elysa_38 Wednesday, Aug 24, 2011 266 days ago

Damm you ATT... the only reason im still here is because of my grandfathered plan!!!! ahhhhhh but my torch can still make it to q4 lol

Posted by Vincents1278 Wednesday, Aug 24, 2011 265 days ago

This is inaccurate. There are 9860's available for preorder to ship August 29th. Late Q3. Bold should be available next week as well just like on VZ and others.

So silly that anyone would leave AT&T because this fake roadmap doesn't show the phone you want coming out tomorrow. Have a little patience. If you leave for VZ enjoy their new higher priced data plans.

There really isn't an excuse as to why AT&T hasn't flat out said why they aren't releasing the 9900 let alone the fact that they haven't announced, officially, a release date while every other carrier has.

What is your information source as far as 9900 being available next week?

This is what i recevied from my business REP some time ago. I had to look at it again.

BlackBerry Bold 9900 and BlackBerry Torch 9860:
AT&T also announced support today for two other additions to the AT&T 4G BlackBerry smartphone portfolio; namely, the 4G BlackBerry Bold 9900 (i.e. the touch Bold) and the 4G all-touch BlackBerry Torch 9860 (AT&T’s first all-touch BlackBerry.)

BlackBerry Bold 9900 and BlackBerry Torch 9860 Key Features:
The premium 4G BlackBerry Bold with its powerful 1.2 GHz processor and expanded 768MB RAM will feature a wide QWERTY keyboard as well as a touch screen and will also support the new BlackBerry 7 OS. This smartphone is RIM’s thinnest BlackBerry at a mere 10.5mm (0.41 inches) and will have strong appeal to BlackBerry users who value the physical keyboard and the refined Bold finishes. The 4G, all-touch, BlackBerry Torch also supports a 1.2 GHZ processor, 768 MB RAM and BlackBerry 7 OS. This device sports the largest BlackBerry screen ever and suits BlackBerry customers looking for a rich visual multimedia experience. As usual, all BlackBerry smartphones from AT&T are worldphones and support simultaneous voice and data.
Availability of these two devices from AT&T is set for 2011.
