Over in the CrackBerry forums it's been highlighted that Asphalt 7: Heat is currently free to download from BlackBerry World in a selection of countries. This may well just be a nice promotion by BlackBerry as the Z10 has only recently hit retail stores in the below locations.
Asphalt 7: Heat is currently free in:
-
Australia
-
Indonesia
-
India
-
Mexico
-
Malaysia
-
Singapore
-
Thailand
Asphalt 7: Heat is a big file at over 1GB in size so make sure you have space on your Z10 and be prepared for a lengthy download.
Have you managed to grab it for free? Let us know in the comments.
Thanks for the tip off cjterminator

Already own it but I'm with you on that one!

Yeah no Canada, or Playbook for that matter. Hope we get some news soon on when our Playbooks are getting bb10.

Oh yes there is.
Just clicked on the link and it took me to BBW and it is listed as free.
Cloudmaster Mar 3, 2013 at 3:00 pm
Just checked myself and it's listed @ £3.50
SM002 Mar 4, 2013 at 5:14 pm
Not sure what link you are using but every time I click on it, it comes up as 'Displaying Info for United Kingdom' - Free Download

Very nice game BTW!!!
elite1 Mar 3, 2013 at 1:12 pm
@James: N.O.V.A. 3 as well. You might want to just ads that to this article vs starting a new one just for that.
CB.Mike-D Mar 3, 2013 at 1:25 pm
Well I don't have this one yet... come on show some love for Canada :P
Bobert_123 Mar 3, 2013 at 1:15 pm
Has CB done a review for this game yet?

Recalled an idea someone wrote a while ago. Log in to BlackBerry World. Change your default country to one of the above, and you should be able for get it.
*edit... I'm unable to verify it atm. Someone should try it though.
PH1L Mar 3, 2013 at 2:47 pm
That does not work unfortunately. If anyone is able to do this, please let us know.
theSteve Mar 3, 2013 at 2:49 pm
From what I can tell, Blackberry World determines one's country from the device associated with the blackberry account. There doesn't seem to be any way to change one's country.
HugoSawyer Mar 3, 2013 at 3:04 pm
You need to have an IP address from one of those countries. If you are able to change it, then you can download the game.
Since i don't have a Z10 yet, I'm not sure if that works. It used to work on the PlayBook though.
BruvvaPete2 Mar 3, 2013 at 8:26 pm
That's definitely something that has changed. I was able to change it last year when my Torch was still active. I suppose it's better for BlackBerry's security to lock down a loophole.
Lovendetta Mar 3, 2013 at 2:56 pm
this works on the playbook by changing your proxy settings to a certain country. ( ip/port) not sure if it works on the z10. getting mine tomorrow or tuesday...
arschael Mar 3, 2013 at 3:17 pm
free for indonesia while Z10 is yet to be released here?
good job or fail job? :S
stevedion Mar 3, 2013 at 4:05 pm
Why is it 5$ in BB Store and 1$ on iOS store. This probably just an android port. Don't get me wrong I am happy we are getting games on BB10, I am hoping we get more apps. I'm ok with one angry birds and Chimpact.
BruvvaPete2 Mar 3, 2013 at 8:28 pm
Yeah. It ticks me off when I see different price points with BlackBerry apps more expensive.
IslanderTnT Mar 3, 2013 at 4:06 pm
WOW! So users in Canada are not important?
Therefore I will never buy this app....
Stuff like this should not be allowed by BlackBerry!
gyp_see Mar 3, 2013 at 4:07 pm
Will have to check if available on my PlayBook as unfortunately the z10 is not released in Australia as yet.
DetlevCM Mar 3, 2013 at 4:51 pm
If I am not mistaken, this was released at a slightly lower price - or Nova was (in the UK).
Well, you buy them once and you can always re-download.
However, as nice as the game is, I have a lot of issues with it... load times are slow but that's fine while not great for a paid for product. The fact that is likes crashing or hanging on a regular basis however is an insult to customers.
Phly_kid Mar 3, 2013 at 5:04 pm
I dont get why the game is a massive whooping 1gig in size? how good are those graphics to warrant such a big size?? Its bigger in size than need for speed hot pursuit the pc version!! When did i blink for games to get so big in size?
BB_Bmore Mar 3, 2013 at 5:24 pm
No PLAYBOOK love what a shame.
pshemek Mar 3, 2013 at 11:11 pm
Well I am just a lucky bastard being on a vacation in Bali, Indonesia. Downloading now. Asphalt and NOVA which is for GBP 5 in England.
ICE_CREAM_SANDWICH Mar 3, 2013 at 11:32 pm
Asphalt 7 came for free because this is the land where's Blackberry stand Tall. Occupied more 50% market shares of Asia. Now,If you're being a vacation in Indonesia, you can do that with TELKOM, Indosat, or AXIS. Just sit back and Enjoy !
scorepion Mar 4, 2013 at 4:12 am
on my Z10 it says 'not available for your device', so no free version but also no paid version...
