One of the best applications for your BlackBerry is the Associated Press mobile news app. So with that being said, a quick look through the BlackBerry Storm forums reveals that yes indeed there is a version of this application that available for Storm devices which should be great news for all you new Storm owners out there. (thanks chrisb!)
The application can be downloaded at the AP mobile site. Be sure to grab version 2.5.3 and be sure to have your BlackBerry browser identification set to "BlackBerry" so that the site may read you are using a Storm. For those of you not using a Storm, but wishing to check the app out you can open your browser and head to http://bb.apnews.com. The files are also available for download to utilize the BlackBerry desktop manager.

It's a quality application, scrolling feels like iPhone.

This program is fantastic! Works the way the whole device should in terms of look, feel, screen scrolling etc. Gives me great hope for the future of the Storm.

And if you download the WSJ app at http://wsju.mwap.at, you'll have access to the best news of the business world too!

Nice application. Changes from portrait to landscape are the fastest I have experienced on my Storm which gives me a lot of hope. Nicely customizable, as well.

Anyone else having issues with the download? White screen comes up, but the download has failed every time I've tried since last night.

On the iPhone, the apps I love the mosta nd use are AP News, Bloomberg and NYT. On my BB I love the WSJ Reader and AP Mobile News. Looking forward to these apps, as I remain undecided as to ditching the iPhone in favor fo the Storm (a long time VZW subscriber)

Wonderful app but a bit disappointed with touch support. While individual articles highlight with light touch (good) the categories and subcategories do not (bad). So. I'm uncertain as to what category will open when I click.

I tried the AP app on my 8800 when it was first released. It sucked up ALL my ram! I had to delete it, because I literally couldn't do ANYTHING else. The program was awesome though. Just too much data to process, I guess.
Did anyone else have this problem?

I downloaded this app yesterday and was blown away at how smoothly this thing ran. If all apps were to run this smoothly, the Storm would truly be on it's way as a top tier smart phone. I was having trouble with sluggishness and battery drain. I had the battery replaced and it runs like a gem. Accelerometer is no longer an issue.
