Amazon says that its Appstore for Android is now available in 236 countries and territories following this recent expansion of 41 more regions. That said, not all apps within the Amazon Appstore catalog will be available in all regions due to local laws and restrictions on certain apps and content. However, for consumers, this will be another venue to purchase and download apps, which will be especially beneficial to BlackBerry customers who have access to Amazon's Appstore to deliver Android apps to their devices.

Here are some of the recently added regions:

Algeria, Djibouti, Kazakhstan, Mauritania, Qatar, Tunisia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Kuwait, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Bahrain, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Niger, Senegal, Turkmenistan, Bangladesh, Gambia, Lebanon, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, United Arab Emirates, Brunei Darussalam, Guinea, Malaysia, Oman, Singapore, Uzbekistan, Burkina Faso, Indonesia, Maldives, Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen, Chad, Jordan, Mali, Palestinian Territories, Tajikistan

Do you use the Amazon Appstore? Let us know if you are finding it available in these new countries.

Regret, as many new to Amazon will find out, many of their apps do not work on BB's.
Load ten and perhaps two will work correct :(

I'd flip that around. In my experience it's been a success rate of 80+%...

worth pointing out that not all apps work even on android devices... i have a sg3, and an android tablet, and there are apps that crash on both.. *shrug*

Can you give us examples of these local laws & exclusions that prohibit the sale of certain types of apps?

I've complained about that several times in the forums!! Glad they finally worked it out..

1 item slashed of the list of reasons to bash 10.3 when it's out..phew

I know BB is trying to solve their app deficiency with the Amazon Appstore and its sea of apps but these android apps are such a hit and miss there is no guarantee that anyone will work and that makes it very frustrating and no one seem to care whether the apps works so with Amazon Appstore baked into OS 10.3 devices out the box, is this the same hotch-potch hit and miss experience we can expect?!

10.3 has a much improved android runtime. Any issues you have with android apps from the amazon store should be resolved with 10.3.

I was surprised to find my bank's app available on the Amazon store (New Zealand), although disappointed to find it didn't work.

This is the major thing. The 10.3 runtime has a much better support of Android apps and will most likely handle everything Amazon has to offer.

I talked and complement about this every time but now it working in Malaysia.

Need to side load for now

Great news on the other hand it's like they want people to forget the fire phone because let's be honest since it's reveal we've hear zilch on any sales numbers not to mention preorders..

"I love when people boast about their phones...like its a pissing contest"

Anyone who uses android apps and puts their device at risk deserves what they get. 71 FREE anti-virus apps scares me into avoiding all Android apps for ever!

Well I don't think the BB masses are simply using Android apps just for the sake of it but simply because the app selection in BB World is anemic!

Here's an idea. Launch it in countries that the z3 is being launched. (philippines)

Only use it for Netflix and steam. The rest of my apps are from BlackBerry World. I didn't play as much games as I thought I would on my device. I love the z10.

Posted via CB10

That's great but most Android apps don't have full functionality. Those that provide push notifications don't push to BlackBerry devices and none that I know of run headless

True that lots Apps not working fully . Office Suite Pro also crashes with word etc. I start to think for true android experience there is no way around google.

Works in Bahrain! Finally! Although I started downloading some apps. Some hits and misses. Some apps work fine, others not so well.. not sure how BlackBerry or Amazon will explain this to users. :/ although it's a good start!

It sucks that you have to enter a credit card number to sign up for Amazon app store. Anyone else bothered by this....

I put a lot of amazon apps on my BlackBerry and it screwed my phone up. I reloaded the software and didn't put the amazon app store on.

Amazon app store is a really appstore, for me.. I didn't like it I download the aps as apk much better ( the only good thing about it is that it shows only good apps for the q10 if your a q10 user)

Via BlackBerry Q10

I have it and it works great. Not as smooth as native of course but it's a good alternative for when I need a new popular app

It was great to read that Indonesia included on the list. But this is a little bit crazy when i tried to instal some social media which connected to adult social media, or some magazine like Attitude on my Blackberry Z10 Amazon didn't show me a possibility to instal those apps. Anybody can help me?
