Alltel Tour

We knew it wouldn't be much longer, and today it was announced that Alltel has released the BlackBerry Tour 9630 for purchase both online and in retail outlets. The CDMA device is available for $199.99 (after $100 mail-in rebate) on a 1-year contract. You'll have to select one of Alltel's Smart Choice packs that include a national minute plan, email, web browsing and My Circle. The Tour will be available to new customers still under the Alltel (not Verizon) service areas. For more information, check out the full press release or visit alltel.com.

VZW doesn't own all of Alltel's markets. In some areas these two are the only game in town, if the FCC had allowed a complete takeover then VZW would have a monopoly.

I can't find it on the Alltel site.

I'm sure it will be, but not yet.

It may only show up on the divested links.

On the website it lists the price as $149 after the rebate.

If you buy the Tour from Alltel.com, the order goes thru letstalk.com. This is a good thing for two reasons. First, the price thru alltel.com/letstalk is only $249 before rebate. Second, you can use letstalk promo codes on alltel.com. I found a promo code for 20% off the pre rebate price, making my Tour $99.99 after rebate. Google "letstalk promo code" to find it.

Outstanding! And only having to sign for 1 year to get that price is even better! Too bad I love my 8703e so dearly....
