Listen up BlackBerry Messenger users... So some numb nuts out there started broadcasting out to their BBM contacts the following message and apparently people are buying into it and forwarding it around like crazy because our CrackBerry inbox is full of people asking if this is real or fake and put a stop to the madness:
'Hello, greetings from RIM (Research In Motion) proprietors of BlackBerry. This message is to inform all of our users, that our servers have recently been really full, so we are asking for your help to fix this problem. We need our active users to re-send this message to everyone on your contact list inorder to confirm our active users that use BlackBerry Messenger, if you do not send this message to all your BlackBerry Messenger contacts then your account will remain inactive with the consequence of losing all your contacts.
We apologize for the inconvenience but this is the only way possible to resolve this problem. Sincerely Research in Motion. For more information visit www.blackberry.com/inactiveusers'
It doesn't take too much to figure out this is fake (aside from the poor wording, RIM would never spell Research In Motion with a lower case 'i" and the url is dead if you visit it) but I reached out to RIM to confirm that it's fake and they assured us IT IS FAKE. So don't waste your own or anybody else's time broadcasting it to your contacts. That is all. Back to our regularly scheduled programming. :)
