Although plenty of folks have made the jump from BlackBerry 10 to BlackBerry's Android offerings such as Priv, DTEK50, DTEK60 and now KEYone, there are still plenty of folks out who have things about BlackBerry 10 that they love and would love to see BlackBerry bring to Android. One thing at the top of that list has consistently been the Active Frame styling as well as the swipe right for Hub gesture and a new app now available in the Google Play Store called Active Peak, makes a notable effort to replicate both.

Active Peak enhances you user experience with its own recent app screen, inspired by BlackBerry 10. It provides you with large tiles, simplified functionality, and easy gesture navigation, always keeping your most relevant apps at your fingertips.

Sounds great, but what does it do exactly? Well, Active Peak, when running, offers you a grid layout of the four most recent apps you have running providing you with an Active Frame UI, though not quite as advanced in the fact the frames don't offer any previews of the app running or update with new information. Additionally, Active Peak integrates configurable left and right swiping to navigate from your recent app. Want to swipe right or left and jump right into BlackBerry Hub? Active Peak allows for you to do that.

Active Peak comes to us from the folks at Studio014 and is available right now on the Google Play Store for $0.99. It's an interesting app that is off to a great start and offers some features that many have been asking for, but right now, it's also rather limited in functionality. Still, for only $0.99 it's worth keeping an eye on and seeing where Studio014 takes it or just buying it right now to encourage additional future support because with more time and possibly better implementation, Active Peak could great.
