80's Classic Spy Hunter Now Available from Electronics Arts

Running through the newest App World additions I came across this one and couldn't resist posting about it. Spy Hunter is one of my favorite games of all time, and it has finally made its way to BlackBerry. The game is a straight up port from the arcade classic. The graphics are just what they used to be (which is nothing great) and the game runs smooth on my Tour. You can play in either Classic Mode or the new Enhanced Mode with updated weapons. If you are up for it and want to flash back to the 80's, Spy Hunter is definitely worth the money. Available now in BlackBerry App World for $4.99.

The thing I hate about App World is it lists almost every device being compatible, but I know damn well that if I were to purchase this for my Storm, I would be sorely disappointed.

I was just thinking that, when i went to view screenshots.... I thought i bet this app has the freaking keyboard up the whole time! I can get used to using my screen like a trackball, but that dang keyboard pisses me off. lol.

figured it like other driving games, not built for the storm, but need the trackball or keyboard for to use.

Don't blame this on the App World....

Developers can choose which device their apps are compatible with. EA and a few other developers are notorious for saying all their apps are compatible with every device when they really aren't. Mobihand and Crackberry are the same way. Developers have to choose which device their apps are compatible with.

Also one of my favorite games ever. Oil slick! Flaming oil slick! Damn -- missed the turn-off for the boat! And the Peter Gunn theme blaring out of both speakers in the sit-down version...

...but it can't possibly hold up well on a small screen with keyboard controls. It wasn't even good with a joytick on teh consoles; the game cries out for a steering wheel, preferably one with buttons.

So, it's great nostalgia and all that, but would likely have the same effect as going back to the tree fort I made as a kid. Everything would be smaller and feel like it was in disrepair. I'll keep the memories instead.

How do you know when new apps are added to App World? They need a category that shows the brand new apps in App World! Whenever I want to see whats new, I have to look through all the apps again which takes a while.

I was all excited until I realized that I have OS 5.0.0.191 on my Tour so I checked the EAMobile.com website, it says it's "as low as $2.99 / month or $6.99" what gives? PLUS... It shows no TOUR! ONLY 8830, 8330, and the 8130. BOO!!!
