If you decided to transition your music from BlackBerry World to the 7digital Music Store app on BlackBerry 10, you'll want to make sure you have the latest version installed. A new update to the 7digital Music Store has now arrived in BlackBerry World and although the change log is small, there's some important changes within it such as improvements for saving your music to your SD Card.

  • Fix for issue saving to SD Card
  • Fix for missing featured albums
  • Fix for Canadian English store sending French emails

The update is live now, so there shouldn't be any waiting for it to arrive. For those who like to keep track of version numbers, it goes from 5.69.5.1 to 5.69.6.1. Are you using the 7digital Music Store or did you look elsewhere for music purchases now? Let us know.

7digital Music Store for BlackBerry 10 updated with bug fixes

So can anyone recommend what to use for movie purchases and rentals now that the blackberry store is gone?

BPWiebe on the super smooth Z10.

Amazon has stated they will have an android app for instant video. It should be available through snap and / or Amazon app store

From my personal experience, it was above all making my Q10 rebooting. So, if that isn't fixed, no way I install it again.

First update here!

Hope they fix the bugs. Read the ratings at the App World. They really miss an on board solution.

I didn't decide to transition Blaze, I was forced!

The 7Digital app is a step backwards compared to BlackBerry World music/video. Sure BlackBerry World feels smoother now that it's not bogged down with music/movies but now I have an extra icon taking up space. I purchase a lot of music on my phone so at this point I am settling with this app.

I will finish saying this, the move to rid BlackBerry World of movies/music has caused me to start considering going to another platform (unfortunately/fortunately ios/android/windows phones don't interest me at all).

No More Music!!!!! No More Videos!!!

+1. I feel totally jipped since they removed the movies. I pay for Pandora so i never bought the music, but I am an avid movie watcher and one of my favorite features of my phone is being able to connect it to my TV with HDMI. Now, it's pretty much worthless. I feel like blackberry really isn't planning on supporting the consumer experience anymore with the shift to Amazon App Store. I hate running Android apps. Half of them don't work anyway, even if they are supposed to be 98 percent compatible. Regardless, I'm not switching platforms, but I have been strongly considering carrying a second phone that is non-bbry.

Are they sorting all the issues with some apps now need Google services for them to function?

I concur 100% and wrote in a crackberry forum and posted it under the heading, "7 digital, " and basically said the same thing. This 7 digital application is a step backwards and almost inexcusable, didn't someone at 7 know that the transition was coming down the pipe and if so, why did they put out this half-azz application? Who cares if if free, if it sucks? I'd rather PAY for a smooth, fully - functioning application than the bs 7 put in the app world. I also purchased a lot of music in blackberry app world, and probably more than I should have because it was soooo effortlessly easy to do so. Not anymore with the current 7 app, however, I am willing to reconsider if 7 make the necessary adjustments.

LOL @ your username... :-)

You do that, you'll most likely get #'ed...
$o don't...

 BlackBerry? I premdict the future's gonna be chenomenal! 

Gets even worse if you replace the "n" with an "m" in the last line of my comment (not the sig).

But don't go there, I didn't plan that!!
Just found it when reading it again, it's not funny... :-)

^ Can you spell RIAA .... & Co. ?

You will repent once they pay you a visit. Cousin had an out-of-court settlement, approx. $5000 for 300 burnt DVDs full of digital content.... lucky him, no criminal conviction apparently

No, AlexB1227...if you only want so called free music, "you' re a sucker and a bum!". People similar to you, who always want free stuff are bums, and would be the first to talk about people on welfare when in reality, that's all you want, a freaking handout!!! Try this concept, "be prepared to pay for s--t, stop bumming for free s--t!"

I haven't tried it honestly. I already had amazon mp3 content prior to getting a BlackBerry. I bought 1 album off BlackBerry World. It ain't the end of the world. Go to wally world, buy a cd and put it on your pc. Goes right on your phone as often as you want after that.

I'd rather give my money to a local music store rather than Wal-Mart but I also rather not have to go anywhere to buy music because I usually don't buy the entire album...I want just the best of the best songs.

No More Music!!!!! No More Videos!!!

I skip the Wal-Mart part; but I've had an Amazon Music Store app on my PC for some time. I stopped using it when I started buying from BlackBerry World, but now I've gone back. I'd prefer BBW, but I figure I've gotta back up the BBW music to my PC anyway -- copying Amazon music from my PC to my phone isn't any more inconvenient. I just don't want the Android Amazon app on my phone.

I still get my music from ITMS .. i would like a native app. And if Amazon just give us a android port like 7Digital, why don't Blackberry don't do a native app for Amazon (and for 7Digtal) by themselves?
They signed a big deal.. They should at least have native apps from (or for) Amazon (Amazon Store , Amazon appstore, Kindle, Comixology)

I have used 7 digital since my 9900 never had a problem. I bought songs last week. I was glad to see it back on BlackBerry World

Posted via CB10

I'm not using it. You would think that all these years with BlackBerry, 7 Digital world make a native app. I know it's my personal preference, but I'm getting tired of hearing about Android ports and apps.

I am with you. They worked with BlackBerry for so long make a NATIVE app. Sure it works but you get that annoying bar @ the bottom yes I know I can hide it every freaking time. Sorry I know Chen thinks Android apps are the answer they help but should not be the standard.

The biggest problem with the Android apps is the run time environment. If the app is not optimized properly it will heat up the phone and drain the battery. You will also get ghost files running in the background requiring an app like task manager to kill those ghost files. Virtual environments are great but require a lot of resources thus requiring processing power and battery power to run. I try not to run android apps on my Z10 because of these reasons. Hopefully we will have a native app or a very good port and not have to use apk apps to access apps. Wishful thinking at best I guess.

Posted via CB10

I still can't play the one song I bought from 7digital (test run) on the native music player nor Neutron... Is there a way to access it other then through 7digital? Anyone?

If you purchased on 7 digital on your phone it should be in SD>Misc folder>andriod>7 digital. The format is saved in. M4a, not MP3 so you may need to convert it (I'm giving you details from my experience) If you originally purchased on BlackBerry World, they sent an email to migrate your music to the 7 digital app. That's what I used, and had no issue. I also used the " download high quality" setting, I don't know if you unchecked the setting, if it will download in a different format. If you look in the folders I listed above and you don't see anything, there is another folder that andriod apps save to, if only been able to get to it using Play cloud app from BlackBerry apps, I'm assuming you updated the app, if you can't find it let me know, and I'll send the folder hierarchy of the other andriod apps.

For me my 7 digital music will play with BlackBerry music app fine. You do have to want to download. You should check your settings, by default the "download only over wifi" is clicked. You can unclick it. And then download. It should download automatically, but it seems you might have to stay in the app until it downloads completely.

I've been a lifelong BlackBerry user, and I was so excited when BlackBerry World offered video and music. I even sampled some artists in other countries. I felt that BlackBerry did a good job, and was sad to see it go. But I did migrate my music with 7 Digital with ease and no issue. I like that you can still listen to your music samples as you continue to browse. For those that don't know the music is downloaded to folder- misc- android- 7 digital folder on the SD card and is downloaded in. M4a format. Which plays on the BlackBerry Z10. But you may need to convert to MP3 for other apps, I'm not sure if this is because I checked the " download high quality music" check box in the apps settings. So far I really like it, and the company left me a positive impression when it launched the app as fast as they did. So I'm thrilled with 7digital.

The albums don't say which has explicit lyrics as they did when it was part of BlackBerry world.

Posted via CB10

I gladly switched over! They have the best selection of new House Music for me to purchase on the Market! . . It took a little while to Port over, but it worked . . .

I tried 7 digital but it kept crashing when I tried to log on. Was very happy with the old BlackBerry music. Anyone know why the change? Seems like a step backwards for the customer service.

Posted via CB10

I can't bother with another ported app. I've always bought my music and movies with itunes. Until things on BB10 settle down, I will keep using it.

Posted via CB10

I still can't understand why BB got rid of the music and video. I was perfectly happy buying my music there and now it's gone.

Just bought 2 CDs yesterday. Going old school now I guess.

Posted via CB10

Almost ready to leave bb, very unimpressed with the removal of music from BlackBerry world.

WE SHOULD ALL GET TOGETHER AND CONTROL BLACKBERRY WORLD MUSIC AND VIDEO PAID AND MAINTAINED BY THE PEOPLE OF BLACKBERRY 10 FAMILY!!

LETS SAY $10.00 A YEAR FROM EVERYONE AND YOU CAN DOWNLOAD MUSIC AND VIDEOS (UNLIMITED) OR IF YOU HAVE A BETTER SUGGESTION PLEASE POST AND LET BLACKBERRY KNOW WHAT YOUR FEELINGS ARE OR SOME GOOD RECOMMENDATIONS TO KEEP BLACKBERRY WORLD MUSIC AND VIDEOS FOR THE PEOPLE AND BY THE PEOPLE WHO BUY STUFF FROM YOU GUYS!

It's great to see that they fixed PayPal. I don't have any problems with this BlackBerry World solution? It's already a better experience.

"BB POWERED" C001C1D66

For sure it's always better when it's native but for my part I was only buying music, so far so good for the moment

I think overall this app sucks compared to what was in BBWORLD. No movies/videos. Looking at some albums not all the songs are available. Whats the sense in downloading Physical Graffiti if songs are missing?

Posted via CB10

Hmm I still don't have this update in the store. Is the latest update for the q10 also?

7 digital is slow and expansive.
Bad move for BlackBerry....
How about movies...
Your development in making money sucks...

Posted via CB10

They just screwed the business again....
Very slow and you have to pay more.
Bad, marketing decision.
Waiting for Amazon or will switch to Android..

My z10 gets turned off when battery is in 40-50%... then I have to plug charger and charge it again... please help me... I'm in trouble.......please

I am an "early adopter" of 7digital on my Z30 and. So far I have purchased a few music tracks using PayPal. Maybe because I did not have any experience with other online digital music stores prior to this, I don't see anything wrong with it, as it meets my basic need for looking up some favorites and those hard to find music. For example, I purchased that theme song from The Last of the Mohicans, some Yanni adaptations, an instrumental version of Into The West (from LOTR), etc.

I also have no problem with playback and storage (am seeing mp3 files for those I purchased). I actually find its in-app playlisting, playback UI, and buy-now-appeal to be quite engaging. There is also a simplicity to it that I have come to like.

For more mainstream music, well, I simply go to my Note 8 and download free stuff from Android everywhere-music-downloaders. But I am sure that if I am in some mood to surge some "small change," I will be able to find my music in 7digital.

In sum, I support 7digital because it complements the Blackberry ecosystem. Simply put, it's a good addition to my Blackberry, and a welcome addition to OUR Blackberry.
