I agree. They should hire whoever did that video to make BlackBerry smartphone and PlayBook consumer commercials.

I couldn't help but have a pleased grin when I saw the Playbook, but was waiting for the 99xx. I do love how reliable and efficient BB is compared to any competition. nice video

Amazing Just goes to show you how Big Blackberry is! Also reluctantly what is it with Crackberry lately? Not this story but i feel like Crackberry just keeps reporting negatively towards there own lifeline! Enough with these articles saying blackberry is doomed and its never coming Back Enough! Crackberry is following what the media is portraying of the Blackberry its as simple as that!
Anybody else Agree?

yep, that's sad but true they are digging their own grave by adding fuel to the negative rumors and promoting other products/platforms on their pod-casts and FP articles.

I, unfortunately, have to agree too. It seems that it's "cool" to HATE (and I don't mean "dislike", I mean HATE) BlackBerry. I just don't get it. There is this war on RIM like it's the plague. Adding fuel to the fire, by means of re-reporting fake negative PR like crap that comes from BGR is not very smart in my opinion.

Agreed!

Gotta take the good with the bad. I've seen enough of the negative publicity with BB as well but the fact remains that these negative perceptions are how RIM is viewed these days by the masses. Hoping they wake up soon and show the world what the BB can really be. Nice to see a little positive PR with this video for a change!

What would you have us do then... sweep any and all negative news/rumors under the rug, and pretend they don't exist? Fact is, RIM is in a tough place right now, and to report otherwise would be wrong. I think CrackBerry does an excellent job of dispelling the rumors that are false, and explaining ones that are true. But if we didn't address the bad as well as the good, we'd be no better than the sites that everyone complains about for spreading tons of negativity. Never once have we said RIM is"doomed and never coming back". Quite the contrary in fact.

Well said Michelle!

I completely agree. You have to report on everything, even if some stories are a little more negative than others. If you didn't, you'd get 10x more flak from people saying you didn't blog about "this and that".

The CB team is doing a good job as always! Keep up the good work!

Kevin made a front page post today that turned out to be 'pure fiction' and posted a blog about how google should buy Rim.

Seems all other sites are spreading negativity. Would be nice to have a site that focused on the positive.

Is this milestone for active users?

Posted by sk8er_tor Thursday, Sep 29, 2011 229 days ago

Yes, they have over 70 million active users. This doesn't even count the people who have a BlackBerry and use it as just a phone and don't have a BIS/BES account.

I was totally against smart phones to begin with, but once I researched there was only one for me and that's a BlackBerry. I started with a 9700 and now I have the 9900 and I have been pleased from the jump. Everything I need access to I have and with BB7 its like 100 times better I have yet to find a website I can't use fully! #teamblackberry all the way!

In a time when lots of people are moaning about RIM its great to see some true lovers of the platform.

70 million stories but all here for one thing- reliability.

Go RIM, BlackBerry FTW.

propaganda? yes was it brilliant? my neck hairs were on edge, that was a proud video and i am glad i have bold 9000!

This was great. Not too showy but it highlighted all of the strengths of BB so well. I think the usefulness of BBM during a crisis like that was especially good.

RIM really should run more of these 'commercials'

RIM needs to start a PR campaign based on this. I am new to BlackBerry and I love it. Sure there is room for improvement just like any smart phone. But for me, BalckBerry does the important things in life, not just for me but 70 million others and RIM needs to tell this story. I think it would help drive sales. I am so glad they included UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh PA, my hometown. My wife works for another of their hospitals and they may roll out Blackberry's in all their hospitals. The concept is great. RIM, use some of that cash to tell the story.

I love my BlackBerry; however, I'm just bummed out that there are awesome devices out there (i.e., Samsung Galaxy S II) that would allow me to do more (Flash enabled browsing, connect to a TV, video chat via front facing camera, connect a USB drive to the phone and move files between the two; without being connected to a computer, etc.)
