Is anyone else having trouble loading?

I ran the download, and it installed and triggered the Desktop Manager. The Desktop Manager scanned for available installations, and came back with "No software update is required for your device." I was unable to figure out how to manually initiate the process, if that is what I need to do.

Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem. Its usually real easy to install, but nothing this time.
Any ideas?

Never mind. I forgot to delete my vendor.xml file. All good now.
Thanks!

Downloaded and installed perfectly for me last night, though it did seem to take a bit longer than a usual OS upgrade. Haven't experienced any problems with it yet.

Where's the Bold love?

5.0? Yes!? Yes!??

Posted by captaincaa Thursday, Apr 09, 2009 1133 days ago

I agree, there hasn't been an official Bold release and it's overdue. 3rd party developers are always coming up with games and themes, but RIM hasn't shown the same interest with what's really important...

I am having the same issue. No updates available after download.

Delete the vendor.xml file? What is that?

Posted by jsayther Thursday, Apr 09, 2009 1133 days ago

I found it and deleted it. Still no luck updating...

I need to know how can i found the vendor file so i can update my curve

Posted by ABerri Thursday, Apr 09, 2009 1133 days ago

When you upgrade firmware versions, do you have to do all of your settings over again and download all your applications again?

Posted by Jay Fredrickson Thursday, Apr 09, 2009 1132 days ago

At first it would not recognize that there was updated software as other mentioned.
I deleted the vendor.xml from my pc, restarted both phone and desktop manager and it worked from there.

Actually, I thought it was working, but it was actually installing the first OS. Now I'm back running .94.
SH1T!

Looks like I sorted it out.
How?
Install the .exe file
Delete vendor.xml
Plug in BB with USB
Launch "loader.exe" in same folder
Straight forward from there...

Posted by laurenchantel Friday, Apr 10, 2009 1132 days ago

Go to the "Loader" file in the "App Loader" folder instead of trying to install it using Desktop Manager. It worked for me, and installed in less then 5 minutes!!

Yay!! A solution was found! AND works alot better than Desktop Manager! YAY! So excited.. lol

if you read my post up top you would have known to do this...:

Go to the "Loader" file in the "App Loader" folder instead of trying to install it using Desktop Manager. It worked for me, and installed in less then 5 minutes!!

Posted by kidd1128 Friday, Apr 10, 2009 1132 days ago

i tried it but the file wont even load..how do i open the new os file?

Posted by kidd1128 Friday, Apr 10, 2009 1132 days ago

i did wah u told me and it said no action required.

Posted by laurenchantel Friday, Apr 10, 2009 1132 days ago

it should work.. dont use desktop manager.

You need to use the wizard set up "loader".

>program files
>common files
>research in motion
>apploader

then click on LOADER- it will take off from there and detect the most up to date OS

i set this up yesterday on my rogers 8900 and i've been experiencing some difficulties. for example, my facebook app doesn't work at all...when i try to login it keeps telling me that i am on a service plan that doesn't support this application and that i should contact my service provider. also the browser wasn't working early today...its working now though ???...any ideas on what the problem might be?
