Deadline on BlackBerry Services Approaches in India

15 Day Deadline on BlackBerry Services Approaches in IndiaThe saga continues over in India... Except now, everything seems to be well under control.

Recent word was that BlackBerry service providers received a 15 day deadline from the Government to allow the monitoring of BlackBerry email services. However, this is apparently not the case. No hard deadline has been given... The Government wants to work with providers to ensure a smooth and problem-free transition. Providers in India are apparently not concerned at all... they are confident they'll become compliant in the near future without any issues.

We reported that BlackBerry devices were pronounced safe by the government back on the 14th of March... So all that's left is this final step for the service providers. A few more weeks and this whole crazy series of events will be over... for good... we hope :)

Honestly, no offense to the people from India on this one, but i would hope that RIM would not give out any encryption details, and it would make me feel very safe using my BlackBerry.

Although, i would REALLY hope the conflict can be resolved amicably...
